Selling a Bison Mark III, and I need some help figuring out how to get the handle off. It looks like there is a wire spring system that holds it on, but I don't want to break it. Any help appreciated, thanks!

The

Person who started the thread for the mini meet in Idaho at the vacuum museum. If you get a hold of him he has a bison. He even bought it in the marketplace a couple months back.

There was a guy selling these NIB here on Vacuumland some time ago. Found an entire unshipped pallet of them never touched.

His pictures show that the handle does come off. They shipped them fully dismantled into every possible piece from the factory.

There is also a close up pic of one with the handle removed located here

As to how it comes off - no data available from anyone posted here before or since. Maybe it's some kind of spring lock on the left side and you push that spring down and the handle slides upward out of the bracket? That's all I can think of.

Makes me suspicious someone that has a Bison and is buying another one doesn't know and won't tell how to remove the handle and help get it shipped out.

See the round button on the front, just below the Bison emblem?

Push it down. It's spring-loaded. Then just lift the handle off.

Be careful putting it back on. If not latched properly, it will pop loose, potentially dropping the vacuum on your foot.

I got the handle off! Thanks for your help! Pushing on the button didn't work, I ended up oiling the spring handle thingy on the back and pulling up really hard, which lifted the button and removed the handle.
