Hey guys,
I just joined her after being on aw.org, I'm interested in getting a 1920s-1930s Hoover upright for daily use. I know I can get belts but what can I do about worn out agitators? Thanks,
Chris

with a little work the brush strips on classic Hoovers CAN be rebristled. and new brush strips do pop up here and there. the ball bearings, when cleaned and greased, can usually be brought back to full service.

seems the biggest issue with the pre-30s Hoover agitators is the metal itself. i think the model 700 and its cousins usually have a tubular aluminum agitator. the aluminum is too soft and goes out of balance.

keep an eye on youtube for videos by "vintagehoover". those old Hoovers are putty in that guys hands!
