I love houses and designs of houses. They just fascinate me. I thought this thread would be a good idea for pictures of some of the most remarkably beautiful houses. Here is a house that I like the design of;

The link below shows a house in LA which belonged to Avril Lavigne, her house is just soo good.

This is an abandoned mansion here, the design of this is beautiful IMHO, but seriously... CARPETED BATHROOM!?!?!?! Ew. Makes no sense why they done that and have wood floor on the landing lol. Part 2 of the video shows that. The link shows part 1

Oohh I love snooping through other people's houses. Rightmove and Zoopla are great - it means I can be nosey without having to actually go and see people.

It's also very handy for looking at what appliances people own ;).

Personally, I'm not a huge lover of new build houses, which is kind of ironic given that my house is only 8 years old. I much prefer older, quirky houses with nooks and crannies and unexpected layouts. Having said that, I prefer a more modern interior.

This is my kind of house - I love those round bay windows!

Oooh nice! :P Yes Zoopla and Rightmove are awesome. I noticed that it's quite rare to see a vacuum on these websites of people's homes pics, IDK why but it's not often you see a vacuum. Here's a house where I bought the Dyson DC07 Allergy with brand new parts from last year. Quite a niceish house and I found out what new vacuum they have just by going on Zoopla to find their house :P Let's see if you can spot the vacuum in what pic and tell me what vac it is lol

I spy a DC33.

I suppose most people would move their vacuum out of the way when the estate agent is taking photos. Our vacuum was always kept in the hallway at my parents house, but when they sold up and the estate agent came to take photo's, Mum shoved it in the cupboard so it wouldn't be on display - she thought it would look "messy".

One thing I find irritating is integrated appliances! How am I supposed to judge your washing machine if it's got a cupboard door over it? Honestly, it's just selfish :P

Correct! Well I would say DC27 due to the bumper and side filter sticker but good spying :P
I guess you're right, but maybe if it's something expensive like a Dyson or something people would think that "ooh Dyson was used in that house" which gives them the impression that the house was cared for as it's an expensive vac :P

I seen a hoover dust manager in a random house for sale on Zoopla aswell, clear view of that by the kitchen door lol

I don't think people take much notice these days as vacuums are so common now. But once upon a time, your vacuum would have certainly been something to display with pride. I mean really, prior to the late 50's, you had to be very wealthy to own one - it was a statement to have it out on display and now shoved in a cupboard.

I don't think there's any direct link really between brand of vacuum used and how much the house is cared for. I know of someone who always buys cheap vacuums usually from Tesco or Argos because they vacuum 3 times a day and no matter what the brand is, they keep blowing them up after a short period of time. Her house is spotless too.

Y'all are making me crazy! I would love any of those, if only. Those kitchens. Baths with a bidet (I never knew how to use one).
Does anyone have pictures of old pre-modernized homes? I would love to see the heating systems and electrical stuff, like how things are fused, and neat old basements.

You're not supposed to face the wall

Our next door neighbour has a bidet. I feel I know way too much about her lady-parts that I probably should after seeing that.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for pre-modernised houses.

Cool. BTW Forgot to mention that in regards to your reply #2, our house was built in 1894 :) It's a mile awayfrom the city centre/town (bullring) and if you want to go to the country side from my house, you would have to drive 5 miles minimum lol. I LOVE your area though, looks peaceful. We live in a victorian house[this post was last edited: 6/22/2015-12:47]

Accross the road our relative's house has a basement actually, it looks like a cellar door but if you open it, there's a flight of stairs going underground and its that. She used to keep her Dyson on the top of the stairs, just behind the cellar door I got worried cos I was like "what if the Dyson falls down the flight of concrete stairs?!?! omg :o

Chris reply #8

Trus, I seen OCC and the filthy homes there, well a lot of them have Dysons lol. The OCD people mainly have Dyson or vax

I like older houses. I love old American houses especially ones where they have a porch on :P

I also like houses where they have basements too.

My house had a porch

it wasn't original, was in bad shape, so, off it came. We had a side screened in porch...it's been enclosed in glass, now a 3 season room. WE used to eat dinner out there in the summer. I'm told the people who lived here before my family, put it there, and used to play cards there on hot nights.
I've dont major restoration/renovations on my house. It's 140 years old, 12 rooms. It was filled with people when I was very young. Now....just myself, the 2 cats, and lots of people under the house. It was built on top of a cemetery.
I've posted pics before. I can post some here, if you'd like.
John

I'll send a picture via Facebook (as i'm having problems with the uploader.) of what my house looks like.

Also with the thing with the carpet in the bathroom ~ I can't stand tiles or wooden floors in bathrooms, so it would be carpet for me.
