Hi, I hope collectors of other brands of vacuums (besides kirby's) can tell me what bearing styles are used in your vacuums. I am specifically interested in the bearing identification number/style number (not a hoover part number but the actual style number of the bearing and bearing manufacturer). See photos as a reference.
The kirbys from 505 (1945) to present day use only 4 different bearings. One bearing is mounted in a hole on the front bearing plate which is then placed over the front of the armature shaft, and another bearing goes on the rear of the armature shaft. These 4 bearings are 1. 608 (rearing bearing from Classic Omega-Present) 2. 8007 (rear bearing from 505-Classic), 3. 8500 (front bearing from 505-Classic) 4. 6200 (front bearing from Classic Omega-Present)
