Bearings and motor brushes

I have a Filterqueen model 31x brown and I need replacement bearings and brushes.I do use grainger from time to time but not ebay.

I'm not really sure I understand your post. Are you simply stating a fact or are you asking for advice on where to find brushes and bearings? If the latter, the bearing part number is 608RS for both the upper and lower bearings. They're very common, so most vacuum cleaner shops will likely have them in stock. The Lamb motor used in the Filter Queen is also used in several other high end vacuum cleaners, so there's a very good chance you can pick up brushes from the same shop you get the bearings from. Sorry if I wasn't clear in the last post.

The Message should of said I need help in Finding replacement parts for a Filter Queen Model 31x; it needs new motor brushes and Bearings. However, the Vacuum repair shop I used to use closed up so, I was going to try to order these parts from a general Supplier like Grainger ect.

If you're looking for parts and you have no local vacuum shop to rely on then the internet is your friend. A search for 608RS will turn up dozens of sources. The hard part is knowing which one to use. I just did a search myself and it looks like Amazon has the bearings and the brushes, but I don't know what the part number for the brushes would be. Perhaps you'll be able to determine that when you have the old ones out. I simply searched Amazon for Lamb motor brushes and ended up with a number of choices.

Not knowing what your skill level is I should warn you that to change the bearings you'll need to take the fan housing apart and remove the fan. Extra care will need to be taken to avoid damaging anything, including yourself. The edges of the fan are sharp enough to cut you, so be careful. If you've done this before then you already know all of this, but if you haven't I can at least show you some photos of what you'll be dealing with. Folks here on the blog are pretty good about offering advice when you have a specific question, though it can take a while for the right person to see it sometimes.

I have it disassembled but there is no visible tag on the motor. The only Identifier is a stamp. Also tried looking at the brushes for info, but only could find these numbers engraved towards the end of the brush: 20-5973.

The Stamp on the motor is: 88 279F

Bill - Perhaps someone else knows how to interpret those numbers but I don't. I stopped by the local vacuum shop today and the owner looked up the 31X motor part numbers for me in a Filter Queen parts catalog. I say part numbers because there are two choices. If the motor is a single speed version then the part number is GR-9209. If it's a two speed version then the part number is GR-3309C. But these are Filter Queen part numbers. I believe Lamb would have their own part numbers for the exact same motors. Unfortunately, no part number was given at all for the brush assemblies. Unless you can find someone that has this info you may have to buy replacements based on visual comparisons. I know it's not the most precise way to go, but I don't know what other options are left.

I went ahead and had a look at the Grainger web site and they do have some Lamb motor brushes listed, so maybe you'll get lucky and find what you need. They don't have the bearings though. Good luck.

A quick note

The shop owners hand writing is a little hard to read, so that last part number could be GR-3304C.
