I got this Rainbow SE PN2 today for $25 at my local Kirby dealer. I have became good friends with the owner and she always saves me vacs and for the best prices around. I had been stopping in hoping to find one of these and today I hit the jackpot. This machine has been kept in pristine condition. There is absolutely zero scratches and all gaskets, cords, hose, etc are in perfect condition. I powered it on and was pleasantly surprised because this machine had no bearing noise, which can sometimes be a problem for machines of this age. This will be my daily driver because you cannot beat the reliability and cleaning performance of this model rainbow, not to mention this was always a part of my childhood memories because everyone in my family owns a rainbow lol.

I'm just always amazed that

someone who would pay THAT much for them (a high price new) would get rid of them, especially if there's nothing wrong with them. I have friends who have one,they love it. I had a friend who sold them too.

I can't seem to understand why someone would do this unless they are just to lazy to use it. This one must have been kept in a closet and lightly used. I have worked on several of these machines and they usually always have bad lower bearings and the separator and nut would be rusted to the motor shaft. This one literally came off with not one problem (I done it just to test) and was clean as a pin. The only thing missing on the machine is the original dusting brush. I plan to get one from my rainbow dealer. For $25 bucks it was worth every penny and will get plenty of use!
