My Dads older sister Aunt Mable was a real character...one of my other Aunts said she could break an iron pan!!! But as rough as she was with mechanical things, she kept THE CLEANEST!! house on earth!! or at least I thought so, anyhow, in the early 50s she bought a Rexair model C, which she used for a number of years, well, back in those days Tide and Cheer were advertised for washing dishes as well as clothes, so she kept a box in the cabinet next to the sink...so one day while vacuuming...which she did twice or sometimes three times a week, somehow or another the whole box of tide fell onto the kitchen floor.....Aunt Mable , being the clean freak that she was..sucked it all up in the Rexair, well it just so happens My Mom was there and saw it all....She said before Aunt Mable realized what she had done..the whole kitchen and dining room were filled with bubbles, both she and my Mom were laughing so hard they couldnt think to turn it off, my Mom said for years after when Lawrence Welk came on she would start laughing ,thinking about the sight of that Rexair blowing suds!, They are both gone but what good memories I have of both of them!
