Me and the jerk running the vac shop went round and round. I called him right after I got out of skool, and he said he had ordered the plastic hood and that I could pick it and the Sanitaire at the same time. I wanted the Sanitaire NOW. We made the trip across town, and after some arguing, I got my Sanitaire in the car. I told him that I hoped my bag was still clean considering I washed it prior, and he said that I shouldn't wash it because it opens up the pores. I then said that if the pores were clogged there would be no airflow. Then, (hold on to your hats) he said that he intentionally soaks bags in WD-40 to clog the pores. That is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. Thank God he didn't do that to my bag.

Yay! WD-40 soaked bags? What customer wouldn't notice that strong smell? Sounds like a way to keep business up, dirty business!

I forgot to mention...

I tried to explain the basics of air movement, but he kept saying that the chance of him making a mistake is 0% because he's been doing this for 34 years. After about 17 seconds of that, he said and I quote, "well I'm just not going to argue with you. I've been doing this a lot longer than you. Okaaaay?" (All said in a drunk voice.) I hope that he somehow discovers Vacuumland one day and reads all this so he can see what people think of his attitude.

Now I have used dw40 on my kirby 560 bag and it worked just fine, just don't use it right away let it dry & before I did that it was blowing dust all over the place. I have done that to the bags & the hotel after I washed & dried them in this industrial machines & they worked fine I did it there first as a test before I ruin mine.

The Sanitaire is back home Safe and Sound

A week and two days ago, I ordered a new hood for my Sanitaire. They called me today, and this afternoon, I went to collect the hood. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the hood had not yet been out of the plastic. I also took the original brushroll in to be rebuilt, and rebuilt it was. It spins very smoothly with no vibrating.
