There is a very nice story and picture about a 50 year old vacuum repair shop closing on the back page of The Chrisian Science Monitor. This was on the Tuesday,March 4 issue. His story is so true of so many repair shops. I bet he has some wonderful stories to tell about his 50 years in business.

Neat but sad story. Northeastern collectors, unite!

I think Thurman's in Fort Pierce was our oldest shop in the county, it may have gone out of business before the hurricanes "ruined" the building it was in. That went when our overzealous county wrecking crew erased it. The whole thing happened when I was out of commission. Mr. McNee, who has to be in his late 80s, is in a new store, and he doesn't keep any of the old things.

Gosh...

Bob Kautzman.. There's a name I haven't heard in a while. What ever happened to him?

Thanks for sharing that article. I can relate with many things that were said...
