I would not want to buy bags with baking soda in them-The thoughts of the baking soda migrating thru the bag in eventually getting into the vacuum motor doesn't appeal to me.I will stick to bags that don't have the soda in them.would be better for your vac.In my area-the baking soda+ moisture means corrosion of your vac motor or other metal parts.

fan first

Rex I see what you mean. The vacuums i am using the A&H bags are the fan first vacuums like the Hoover Convertibles, Kirbys,Eurekas, Royals. The bag first, Electrolux, Miele, I use the genuine bags. I never thought about the baking soda releasing from the bag and going into the motor.

There would be a minor concern about the BS in the direct air bags-since Baking soda is a fine powder-I would think it could clog some of the bag pores reducing efficiency. How much soda is in the bag when you get them?

i bought some of these bags for Windtunnel. there is a pad in the bag that muffles the airstream, maybe that is impregnated with soda. i have a feeling the bs thing is simply marketing hype. i wouldnt worry about it
