I didn't do it for gratitude, but a "thanks for your effort in spending hours of your life when you could be doing something much better" is still appreciated. It's polite to thank people when they do something you like or are pleased about.

Look at that, Hoover could actually afford to be classy and use photographs for their brochures! Not the same can be said about Electrolux. Bless Lux, they tried. HA
