Today is April 2nd, and here is an update of my Collection in the pictures. I still have the same upright vacuums. I had the guys who work at the Vacuum Store restore the Eureka Commercial Vacuum and the Montgomery Ward Vacuum by Hoover with the Dust Cup. As you can see in the pictures, they did an amazing job on restoring both of them. They polished them and made them look brand new.
Hoover Before:
Was very Dirty and stinky.
Always left an odor of cigarette smell in the room.
Every time I turned it on, it would puff out a huge cloud of dust.
Hoover After:
Looks all nice and clean.
The new odor is the smell of Kirby Shampoo.
No more cloud of dust.
The motor sounds better too.
Eureka Before:
Immensely dirty to the point I had allergies from the dust and was wondering why in my room I sneezed a lot. But then I found the source which was the Eureka Vacuum.
Old Brush was worn out and always sounded like the vacuum did not have a brush.
Had a Vinyl Bag which I found out was not original.
Eureka After:
Very clean.
Now has a retro cloth bag.
No more dust smell when I use it. It used to hurt my nose before.
At one point, I came very close to selling those 2 machines on eBay because of how dirty they were. I could not stand the smell of the Hoover and I also found out that the cord on the Eureka was replaced back in the 70s or 80s and that the original cord was beige. I am very picky when it comes to originality on vacuum cleaners. I am going to find an original Eureka Commercial Vacuum cord from the 70s and replace the black cord. After I do that, it will look all original all over again. I'm glad I did not sell these machines on eBay, because they are hard to find.
Take a look at the pictures.
