I have one also

The last patent date is 1920 on mine....I have solid wheels though..so, your's may be older.
Can't get a much simpler design.

where ?

Where do you get all those old machines..or is it a secret ?
I collect only the old ones..my newest is from around 1935.

It’s definitely not a secret! I have projects backed up for months. Currently over 100 just waiting to be redone. I purchase in bulk whenever they come up. I get emails from folks all the time wanting stuff gone whether it be barns, I bought the ESSCO collection, other collectors, etc. Facebook is a wonderful market for vacuums as well. In the Midwest or East Coast people just have to be quick because I probably saw it ;)

Wow, great job! I had one of those for a day several years ago, I won't bore ya with the details but the previous owner "rewired" it, did an amazingly horrid job, and it shot sparks. That one got returned real fast.

Beautifully done! My friend has the exact machine.

Interesting note about finding these. Sadly I've never seen antique vacuums here in vegas. They just don't seem to exist out here

I

Believe 1930-1926 is the year range on the model.
I see you upgraded to the M18 impact and drill. That could be how you get them cleaner and faster with M18 over m12.

Les-

I do know this is pre-1922 and probably around 1920. Wasn’t sure if someone know for sure or not.

I don’t actually use the drill/impact for polishing, just drilled a hole for a replacement bag hook ;) good eye on the Milwaukee products, though!

Could be the link between

The very first model with trolley wheels and a lower attachment port, and the one with the solid wheels. Below are two pics of the very first model Apex, which had similar wheels.

Apex began in 1918 after Frantz Premier sold out to General Electric. Carl Frantz started Frantz Premier in 1910 to manufacture Jim Kirby's first production electric cleaner, which was the Frantz Premier. After he sold to GE (who was making the motor for him), he began Apex with that wonderful inclined and divided nozzle. I have tons of the advertisements at that time as well as I have Stan Kann's Apex A-3 which he gave me before he passed.

Wonderful restoration job. Just beautiful.

Tom..

Thanks for that info! I did not know about the inception of Apex. That’s great to carry forward, thank you.

A small video of this powerful sucker running!
