Anyone used the Rainbow to clean big floor plants?

I discovered a wonderful way to dust and wash the leaves of big floor plants in the house.


 


(1) use the dusting brush to first remove the loose dust


(2) fill sprayer jar with warm water and spay leaves down with hose in exhaust port


(3) put hose back into suction intake and use dusting brush to such up the loosened dirt and dust and because the Rainbow is designed to be used with water I can pick up any overspay of water on the floor . 


 


I also use the spayer to wet down the blinds with cleaner and then use the dusting brush in suction end to pick up solution and dry the blinds.

You can see how nice and shiney the leaves are and any overspray cann be picked immediately. I was shocked at how much dirt were on the leaves.

Anyone used the Rainbow to clean big floor plants?

I have other machines with spayers but with a bagged machine there was no way to dry the leaves and pick up any water that oversprayed on the wood floor or surrounding area. By using the dust brush, it dries the leaves and sucks up any dirt in seconds and you can use the wands if you need extra reach.

Won't sucking up the water, ruin the bristles on the brush?

What a great discovery and thank you for sharing that. spraying the blinds and using the suction, with the soft horse hair brushes. Both of those cleaning jobs
are donting jobs (if you get around to doing them), with Spray and a cloth or paper towel. I never thought I would like doing quick dustings with a Swifter
duster, but they do a great quick job on the Mini blinds. I remember back in the
day during spring and fall cleaning. The old wooden blinds and then metal ones.
Would be sent to back, hung on the clothes line. Sprayed with the garden hose and scrubbed with a brush, sprayed down again. Then left to dry in the sun !
Sure am glad I have lived long enough to see that day pass away !!

It has never hurt my dusting brush. I would always remove and wash the brush out after I did real dirty job like cleaning the screens. I just use mild soap and WARM not HOT water and let it dry before replacing it back in the brush holder.


As the dusting brush is not that expensive I guess a user could just buy one to be used  on the greasy ,dirty jobs.


If you notice this dusting brush is full size. So many of the machines today (even high end) use such small sized tools but you can see in the picture this one has ample bristles and they are very soft(not plastic). 


I also wash the floor brush after I use it to clean the porch or garage floor but again I use warm water and let dry before use.

I use one dusting brush for in-the-home furnishigs; another for dirtier surfaces (fireplace, garage, attic, basement) & another for the car (all 3 brushes are full size & have soft NATURAL bristles)

I use the Electrolux combo tool more often now; and definitely won't be w/o it! Good thing I've never been without an Electrolux or Rainbow at any point of my life.
