I bought this the other day and don’t know much about these but have seen them before. Anyone have any info? It’s a very solid machine and is in very good shape.
Anyone know anything about this Electrolux?

First upright, Introduced in 1973 I believe, the first ones were close to the color of the Golden J, then brown for the Olympia then silver/grey for the Silverado, I always liked them, many don't, they are terribly heavy, but way over engineered,the height adjustment is darn near the best ever, it adjusts all 4 wheels so the machine stays level, and the nozzle is never at an angle, bags are somewhat hard to find, to use the hose you open the bag door and there is a converter that attaches over the bag and the hose plugs into it, most likely if it was in Lenoir it was sold by Margaret Buncick or Ethel Arney, they pretty much flooded Lenoir and Hudson with Electroluxes in the late 60s on into the 90s.

I hoped you would chime in on this one. It’s a pretty cool machine and works flawlessly, it was a trade in at my local Kirby office. It was taken very good care of.

Fun vacuum! I've had a few! Bags are almost impossible to find. Delaers don't support this machine anymore!
You'll find the motor specs embossed on the base's plastic cover mount when you release the handle. It's a Model 1451E, and I think it's rated at 6.4 amps. Its colors appear to match the Diamond J 1521, which indicates that it was the last version of the rectangular base Electrolux USA upright, made between 1984 and 1986.
Electrolux USA typically marked "Heavy-Duty" on its cleaners that were equipped with a double-insulated cord, but in this case it referred to its construction (I don't think it's equipped with a double-insulated cord).
The series was Electrolux USA's original upright introduced in 1977, during the Super J 1401 era. Iterations include models 1363—harvest gold (1977-78) & tan (1978-80); 1451—tan (1980-81); & 1451E—tan (1981-82), gray (1982-84); & sand (appears to be what you have). The 'E' suffix was added when the bag light was moved from the handle assembly to the base.

-2 belts on magnetic clutch,automatic control,clean air 4 stage fan system and more.Your looks like last Diamond Jubilee color but may have grey Silverado color handle.Best to NOT take apart without knowledge and special tools.But very trouble free with care.Cord should be locked under upper swivel hook when using to prevent strain.I have bags 'in a box somewhere'.

I had one of these for a while! Very heavy and not a particularly good performer but it was neat. It took me a minute to realize the handle release was a button next to the power switch

The vacuum looks heavy and cumbersome. I'm surprised being so bulky there wasn't a cord rewind on those. Thanks for sharing.

Electrolux USA's first upright was launched in October 1977. Maybe you're thinking of a Electrolux Sweden upright, introduced in 1967.

I have one of these matching the Olympia. Great cleaner, but I need to replace the gasket around the bag to get suction back
Seen two of these Lux vacuums-one at a church yard sale-other at a home yard sale.For some reason both vacuums were beat to hell.It looks like these vacuums were sort of fragile.The one at the church sale had its broken parts in a plastic bag tied to the handle!Passed on both-and what was weird saw both within a month of each other.
