So I've got my 505 with original bag, but I don't want to use it because I don't want to ruin the bag. If money was not object, I'd just buy a new bag and emptor and keep the original safe and sound somewhere. Unfortunately, money is an object. So I wondered if anyone would be interested in buying the 505 bag so I could use the money to buy a new bag and emptor. If you've got an emptor for a 505 in usable shape that you'd be willing to send me, we could take some $$$ off the price. I was thinking somewhere around $200, but make me an offer.

Thanks.

I think it would be best to retain it's value by keeping the bag with the vac, at least in the sense that it's stored safely but still available to hand if you came to sell it...

If you're careful enough, you should be able to roll the bag's spring off the emtor in order to remove it, and then you can safely put it away (preferably in a vacuum-sealed bag), of course removing the slide/hanger first, then all you need is a replacement black flap-top bag which doesn't cost a lot really, and you're set... :)

People go wild over the old 500 series bags. I know when I got my 510 and posted pictures everyone was just talking about how the bag was original and in good shape (like the rest of the vacuum didn't even exist! lol) I paid $100 for the 510. I think $200 is not unreasonable considering you might only come across them every couple of years, and the machines themselves would be much easier to find (with non-original bags).

That completely loses the value of the vacuum to get rid of the original bag. Then it wouldnt be all original anymore!

If I were you, I would keep that bag and keep that bag safe.
