I live in the house dating back to 1900 and built by a famous architect for a prominent merchant back then. This beauty was in the basement and actually connected to the outlets throughout the house when we moved in. When we refinished the basement, we disconnected it and put it on a specially built trolley because this thing is probably about 500lb. I am trying to research what it is worth and it is for sale. You are welcome to contact me with inquiries and suggestions.

That would be a cool addition to any central vacuum collection-wished I had a basement for it-but the vacuum would be under water!I live in a swampy area.Spencers were very powerful even if the motor was smaller in power than modern vacuums.Their air systems in these machines had a suprurb design-remember they made organ blowers and blowers and centrifical compressors for industrial use.Spencer is still with us today!

I'm interested to see what you might be asking for this.

My name is Ben and I'm an avid collector from New Jersey, I myself have 2 Spencer's and an old cast iron central vacuum from 1910 a Richmond. The 2 Spencer's are both green matching one portable and one stationary. I'm very interested to find out more about this central vacuum you have and where it is at? Please either email me @ [email protected] or text/call @ (609) 424-2366. I'm located near Trenton, NJ. Thanks.

Actually...

This machine came to live with me a few weeks ago. I made a video of it once I got the motor running again (just needed to be freed up and oiled):

Since then I tore down the turbine, cleaned and secured the impellers (hubs on a few needed to be drilled and tapped for new set screws) and reassembled. Still needs to be prettied up a little before I make another video.

I would love to see pictures of your Spencers, Ben! They're my favorite machines and a big reason why I'm running out of room in my garage.
