Earlier today, my package has finally arrived and I’m so excited because I always wanted one of these vacuums in my collection so enough chitchat and let’s unbox!

It’s packaged very well, lots of catalogs. Looks like something you’ll see from price matching, which I don’t like at all.

I purchased a vintage Hoover Decade 80 vacuum from eBay in a decent price! When I first saw this, I think it was $50 before and then a few minutes later I noticed the price went down to $40 or best offer! The shipping was $25 so I made my best offer of $35, which makes the total of $60. Not bad. But anyways this is my 1st Decade vacuum to my collection. I feel pretty good about this.

The serial number/model number sticker. I think I got the manufacture date right. I’m looking at numbers 063. June 1983?

One more thing, I ordered 2 new Hoover Concept lightbulbs from eBay and I thought it would work on Convertibles and Decades but sadly this one doesn’t fit so I gotta try to find the correct ones and I’ll post another pic of my Decade 80 with a new lightbulb. And I thought the Decades use 2 lightbulbs but they only use one so I’m thinking about returning these or keeping them for a Concept One/II or Powermax.

And I also put on the hose with the tool converter and the check the suction and I was amazed! The hose suction on the Decade 80 is kinda strong than my Convertibles and Concepts! I mean like HOW?! Is there a way to give my Convertibles and Concepts stronger suction?

Congratulations...

from your neighbor from the South&#92 (Austin). Very nice looking vacuum. Thanks for posting the very clear pictures...cool you did a slow reveal.
