Hello everyone, though I've been following the posts here for some time now, I recently joined the group. I want to thank all of you for teaching me so much about these amazing (and useful) household machines. The information shared here has helped me immensely, so I wanted to say a big "thank you" to all of you! Although you don't know me yet, I feel as if I know so many of you already.

I also wanted to share my collection with all of you...

Kirby Ultimate G
Kirby Generation 3
Kirby Classic III (converted to HEPA bags by myself)
Kirby Sanitronic VII (not pictured - restoring currently)
Electrolux LX (not pictured - restoring currently)
Electrolux L
Electrolux Auto F (not pictured - nearly finished restoration)
Air-way Sanitizor Mark V
Silver King Professional
Lewyt 55
Rainbow E-series (single speed)
And a Filter Queen in the mail!

I rotate through all my vacuums (some have dedicated jobs). I love them all!

We had a Lewyt like that!

Welcome. Quite a nice collection you have. My tastes also run toward Kirby and Electrolux machines. The Lewyt in your collection (photo #8) brought back some memories. We had one almost just like that when I was a kid; in fact, it 's the first vacuum I remember ever using. Ours had a roller base under the tank and the motor housing was bubble gum pink. The lower part of the tank was a darker gunmetal gray. It was the main vacuum in the house until my parents got a tan and green "Brady Bunch" Hoover in the early '70s. It stayed in the garage for a good 25 years after that and was used mainly for vacuuming out cars. It never faltered mechanically, but the vinyl hose had many splits in it and was wrapped in yards and yards of black electrical tape. I guess my parents either junked it or Goodwill'ed it when they moved in the late '90s because I've never seen it at their new house, nor have I ever seen another one like it until today.

Memories...

Funny how we all have some sort of "vacuum memory"...

I love my little lewyt - Such a big vacuum in a small metal frame! Actually, I use my lewyt to clean out my cars, too. It's light, powerful, and small which makes it excel for cars, in my opinion. I wish mine had the roller base - I manage, but it's easy to forget and give it a little tug which scrapes the bottom a bit. To avoid this, I usually just put it on the floor in the car.

Oops, where are my manners... I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Geoff, by the way.

Yeah, it was a little beast with lots of suction for its size. But then it was designed much like a modern shop vac.

I remember after the first Star Wars movie came out in 1977, I started calling it 'R2D2'. I can remember pulling it by its hose, saying "Come along, R2" in my best Anthony Daniels voice.

The Air-Way you have is an awesome machine. But I don't understand why you don't wrap your cord the correct way. Wrap the cord from the support stand, UP to the top of the carrying handle, then back down to the support stand. That way, when you want to use the machine, just unlatch the lid, and the cord will fall into your hands, ready for use.

Very nice!

All great machines. You have GOOD taste in canisters. All the good ones are there. Post pics of that Filter Queen when it comes! Is that a NON-PN model Airway? I'm looking around for an Airway with a PN with no luck yet.

Hail to the (Filter) Queen!

FantomFan, here's the new Filter Queen 95x with PN.

Dysonman1, yeah, it's a dumb way to wind the cord - I did it that way to keep the cord from obscuring the name sticker for the picture.

Thanks for your kind words and warm welcome, everyone!

Air-way cord

Just so nobody thinks I'm a complete weirdo, here's a picture with the Sanitizor cord in the "everyday" position. I can still see the 'Sanitizor' peeking from under the cord : ) I love the older models with the red "Sanitizor" ring around the top (or even the green/aqua one).

FantomFan, I just saw an Air-way PN on eBay - did you see it? Actually, I think maybe the same guy was selling the Sanitizor separate from the PN. Strange. ( I guess you don't have an Air-way yet though, right? )

Beautiful Filter Queen!

I have two of those (One I'm selling)- The best model from Filter Queen in my opinion. I did see that Airway today- beautiful, but I just bought a NEW Amway Cleartrak, so $150+ is steep. I'll keep looking. I actually have a nice 66a Airway with some tools, but I want one with a PN to use on carpets. I also have a model 700 Filter Queen. You cannot get much better than a Filter Queen!

great vacs (in North GA!)

Geoff,
Nice collection of quality vacs.Have you used an Electrolux upright along with the tanks?I see you want a Constellation.I have many that need new homes. Most are yellow colors but I have most others. They are being grouped together but I do not yet have them matched with hoses, wands and att sets.Maybe soon.
What part of North GA are you near.I was in the northeast corner last weekend and will be again this week. Also have family in Hart county.
Happy vacuuming,Jimmy

Constellation...

@rugsucker, no, I've never used an upright Electrolux - am i missing out on something great? Hey,I'd love a Connie with a hose, wand and some attachments - that would be awesome! How much? I'm not real concerned with colors, but when you get to that point let me know what you've got available.

Oh, and I'm in Kennesaw.
