Well, some time tonight, Rob Shore and Bill Wood (Tazcatsdad) are arriving . Tomorrow, after Mass (I'm lectoring), Matt will join us for a mini meet. Mike Gravelin just called and can't make it (auto problems). Also, Joe Kassock can't make it this time due to a family party. This one will be much more casual and informal (Fiesta dishes vs Lenox). We'll have an all-American cookout: Hamburgers, hot dogs, macaroni salad, slow-baked Boston baked beans with bacon. Of course, Bill will finally taste some Pittston Hospital iced tea. It will be a fun little gathering. Pictures will follow, I'm sure. LAST week, it was 60 degrees. This weekend, 93. Yikes!I have an arsenal of HOOVERs out and ready!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mini meet

Love the Convertible on the left, that is my new old daily driver!Does such a great job and it is so attractive.

Ok, Kids, a progress report.

Bill arrived last night, and brought some 'fab' vacs with him. (Some were from across the POND". After some Irish sodabread, we went to the 12:15 Mass. Matt then arrived, and we played with wonderful machines. We all enjoyed authentic "New York egg creams", which contain neither eggs nor cream (discuss). Neither of them had ever had one before.
We've somewhat turned this into an "international mini-meet". As the "Brits" love their tea time, we send an affectionate "nod" to them, by having tea, and sodabread, as we don't have any scones or crumpets. We did this, as I am privileged to have so many machines from PERIVALE and CAMBUSLANG here in my home. Only the finest china would do. ok, ok, ok here's a little peek.

Well, I heard a knock at the door, well, actually a bell.

We fed Zippy and he went right to the vacuums. He played with a HOOVER Celebrity II Elite. He was in Heaven. He just got a job working for "Filter Queen !!!!!! However, we ALL know where his heart lies. The joy on his face with these HOOVERS is FAR different from when he'd be using said "Queen". Dinner was very nice. Later, HOOVER milkshakes! Yum!! More photos.

Poor Rob!!!!!

We let him do his "demo" for the Filter Queen. I have my own HOOVER dirt meter. We put it on a 1964 Convertible. It pulled out lots of dirt. Granted, this hall runner was destroyed by the carpenters (never took up that rug). Then, we used a Decade 800. Poor ZIPPY sat in defeat. Yes, the 1964 Convertible and a 1980's Decade 800, and a Concept beat the arse off the F. Queen. Tom...... another TRIUMPH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Do I bash? NO. But, do I gloat??? Well, maybe just a little. Ok, maybe a lot!

And not just UK

John

The green/white Junior Deluxe in reply #11 was made in France, even more international than you thought :)

I was actually using an identical one yesterday and it is always good to hear the "Hoover thump" which tell you rugs are getting really cleaned :)
