Another Mini meet this weekend.

VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

Al! Thanks for the info.

And, you are so right. Had I known about the vac from France, I'd have made crepes on one of the HOOVER crepe makers. 3 years ago, we had HOOVER fondue, one with cheese and bread, the other with chocolate and fruit.

Rick B called during the festivities, and Mike and Loel called. Joe K missed it. So, we even had members in 'absentia'.
Bill and Rob woke up early, as I had to get to school. WE had fruit, coffee, (h chocolate for me) juice and sodabread. Then, they went up the street, and I went down. It is a humid 70 degrees here today. I believe it's going to rain (looks like a 4 Excedrine Monday).WE all had a great time. They know they are welcome back anytime. That'll be it for the minimeets for a while. The convention is rapidly approaching. Zippy is moving, so he is storing a few HOOVERS here. MAYBE he'll get them back!
Minimeets are always fun things to attend and host. They can be simple or much more involved, like the last one. They can be a lot of work, especially when you do them by yourself. There is NO ONE behind the scenes organizing these, contrary to rumor. The guys will post more pictures soon, I'm sure.
Upon leaving, Bill gifted me an electric knife and a HOOVER Junior. Perhaps he was just grateful that he survived his first meet unscathed. They'll be cherished here along with vacuums like the one that belonged to our dear "Terry". Stay tuned....................

Rob vacuumed this rug in the hallway for a good 15 minutes with his brand new Filter Queen.......he's appalled at how much dirt it left behind that a 40 year old HOOVER is pulling out!

To be fair....

The 'good carpets' produced only red and creme carpet fibers...all had to agree.
The hallway carpet was left there by the carpenters during the demolition, construction. I though I'd have to replace it. I don't think so now. it looks practically brand new. Rob was 'beside himself' at the discovery of what those HOOVERS did in comparison to his 'demo' unit. Ah, well................. all is well at the palace.as Mike calls it. It's been called a LOT of things.
Rob's supervisor (on the phone) was a bit surprised to hear that the 'client' had a tester...and used it! His advice to Rob concerning my home visit was, "Forget it, he beat you'. And, this guy had THAT many cleaners? He's crazy. I've been called THAT recently by another, or two as well. Am I worried? Nope. "Boss" would be so pleased.

Looks like fun...............

So much fun happens at these mini-meets.

Bill, since we live so close to one another, maybe we could jointly sponsor a mini-meet in the Buffalo area some time? Would be great fun to hhave the PA guys travel here.

If I had to describe my first mini-meet in one word ...

... it would be awesome with a capital A! I had so much fun -- and John is an absolutely wonderful host! I'm so blessed and honored to have made his acquaintance. Rob and Matt, you both were truly a joy to meet and I do hope that our paths will cross again very soon.

Greg, I think that would be a splendid idea! We are indeed very close to one another residence-wise, so we shouldn't have a problem working out logistics at all. Please feel free to contact me!

I have some pictures to share of this weekend as well, but since this is the first opportunity that I've had to really relax since getting home from PA I will post them either tomorrow or Wednesday. Right now -- time to call it one of the best days I've ever had.

Yes, it was amazing how both Arthur AND Murphy

just mulled about during all of the excitement. I truly believe they think everyon comes to see them. AS Auntie Mame said to young Patrick at the party,"Circulate, Darling, Circulate". And, the did! And, never once have they ever tried to eat anything from the table. Good boys, indeed.

I am amazed at how your cats stay close to you with all those vacuums....

Soloman, our cat is very loving and will hang around people unless there is a vacuum in the room....

John's culinary skills are legendary ...

... and the results are most enjoyable (as I'm sure I don't have to tell any of you who have been to his meets in the past)! Here, he's preparing those delicious egg creams he spoke of earlier.

Before "Zippy" arrived,

we had a chance to play with a few of the machines I brought along with me. Here's Matt, giving my Junior Dirtsearcher a quick spin.

After we enjoyed our dinner,

we got down to some serious HOOVERING. Rob (aka "Zippy") arrived with his Filter Queen in tow. John brought out his Hoover Dirt Meter, and we began having some real FUN! Matt started cleaning with John's brand-new TTI WindTunnel ...
