The eBay Flaketards have struck again. The high bidder on my Model T Electrolux isn't paying, isn't responding to eBay's automatically generated "payment due" notices, isn't responding to my nice requests for payment.

I made a second-chance offer to the second-highest bidder, no response.

I guess these people think we're all on eBay for fun and games and not because we need the income. It was one thing in the good ol' days when people had to write out a check and put it in the mail; inexcusable these days when all people have to do is press the PayPal button.

Turning the air blue with some Bad Cussin' here...

Hello

I'm sorry to hear about that. It's really quite unfortunate that people are playing games like that. I would love to own ones of those someday. In fact I was bidding on yours! Hopefully you can sell it through ebay after you get everything straightened out.
Good luck and all the best,
-Tyler

Well, as I said the original bidder on my Model T flaked out. It really pisses me off that sellers can no longer leave negative feedback for no-pay buyers. I do not understand that policy at all. How are people going to be warned who may be doing business with unscrupulous buyers?

Anyway, there is a silver lining in this cloud ... eBay issued a second-chance offer to the highest bidder who accepted and paid immediately. Turns out he's a collector not too far from me! We're planning to get together after Easter. I'll fill in all the rest of the story later; I just wanted to report this happy ending!

I'm glad things turned out well for you.  It helps to keep in mind that "flakes" are probably having problems in their own lives, the likes of which have nothing to do with us sellers.  Don't let it upset you.  The easiest thing to do is add their name to your 'Block-bidder' list, that way you can be sure they will never be able to cause a problem again.

Also, apparently Ebay keeps track of people that screw up and removes them.... eventually.

I had a recent 'flake' of a seller, who after I bid and won and auction, they decided they didn't like how they tabulated the shipping cost and though they could just push it on  to me.

AH-HA I said.   live and learn for next time.  They only have 23 feedback.  Unfortunately for them, the choices they've made in handling their mistake, they are going to have to learn the hard way....
