Well, I arrived safely last night.
Today began with a nice visit to Morrison's Vacuum Shop. Then, to Restore and another thrift shop. I scooped up some nice Genuine Hoover bags and belts, for next to nothing. I also picked up a CaddyVac... in desperate need of some care, which it got, tonight...good as new! I also had my 67 Convertible all greased up, returned to it's "new" standards.
Onto the Pike residence to visit Dick and Joellen. I left there with a nice 'array' of objects d'Hoover: an umbrella, a great Concept 2, (electronic), a Convertible, model 728, a plastic Convertible, and.... a beautiful British U1025 (like BRAND NEW), a plethora of irons, etc...... I also managed to pack into the car some toasters, irons, ornaments.......
DAY ONE. We also enjoyed a beautiful 'garden party', with Miss Jane Turner. We also met Mr. Chuck De Graff, a retired Vice President of engineering. He saw my IBASAIC shirt.... and asked me if I KNEW WHAT IT MEANT????? Silence fell upon North Canton Proper. THEN, he asked me if I "KNEW THE SONG"? Can Martha Stewart BAKE? So, there, in the middle of the street, where three grown men singing "the song"... "All the dirt, all the grit, HOOVER gets it every bit......." He'll never make THAT error again. As they said in "scripture", Evening came, and morning followed...the FIRST day". Photos, anyone?
