Before going to Ebay, I wanted to let the posters on this site know that I am selling my Air-Way Super Chief. Pictures will be posted tomorrow or Monday as I am in Europe.

The Super Chief is ALL original including bag, cord, wheels, motor, handle, attachments, hose, brush roll, boxes and paper bag.

This vacuum is pristine and it's condition can be verified by VCCC members Tania Voigt and Fred Nelson. It has been shown at VCCC conventions.

It is being sold as relocation is in my future. I do not intend to profit on the sale, only recouping my costs. The pictures will speak for themselves.

Shipping: The actual vacuum will be professionally packed box within a box. I will pack the other items. The boxes will be shipped FedEx two day and the settled upon price will not include the shipping. (It will be discounted on FedEx.) Shipped to US addresses only.

If after viewing the photos, anyone is interested, contact me at [email protected] or 704-905-8644. Please be patient with responses.

This could be, a once in a life time chance to acquire a true piece of vacuum history. I know of 4 of these vacuums in existence but none as complete and pristine as this one.

For interested parties, my DirtMaster and Green Goddess will also be on the market shortly.

Charlie, This sale must be breaking your heart, or at least like amputating one of your extremities. How could you possibly give up your first born??? Do tell - relocation. Shocker! Where to?

Michael,

The move would be career related. Most likely Dallas.

RE: the vacuums, well, sometimes you just lose interest. The club has changed, the members have changed and it is best for me to move on. I've enjoyed my vacuums and now it is time to let someone else enjoy them.

And, I have had to do a fair amount of amputating in my life! In the words of Elaine Stritch, "But, I'm still here!"

#8:

The rug nozzle with it's own power driven brush roll. On/Off toggle switch may be seen. The brush roll was turned off for above the floor cleaning.

The original rubber bumper still in excellent shape. Gee, it's only approx. 77 YEARS OLD!!

#11:

Easy conversion to above the floor cleaning. Rotate the swivel dome until the arrow lines up with the hollow handle. Attach the hose at the end of the handle and add the tool of your choice for the correct job.

(Dirt finder headlight on for photo purposes.)

Air Way Charlie

I hate to see you move on away from the club. I have never personally met you but I have bought two wonderful vacuums from you. One is a new in the box Airway Centurion, and the other is a Kirby model 519 that you rebuilt. Those two wonderful machines have a special part in my collection and a special part in my heart knowing they came from you and your wonderful collection. I will treasure them forever. Now if I could find a Airway purple signature series like you got from Tania.. I would be the happiest man on earth.. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors.. Good Luck and stay well.. Dan in Wyoming....

Collectors will mortgage their homes to be able to buy your beautiful Super Chief. eBay will be on FIRE. If I didn't already have two Super Chiefs (one belonged to Stan Kann), in immaculate condition, here in the Vacuum Cleaner Museum, I'd definitely be interested.

Gorgeous machines.

Thanks Tom. You and I both share a love for the Air-Ways. I also have a mint Chief and mint Green Goddess. The Chief is staying and I am up in the air about selling the Green Goddess.

I have seen a lot of the GG's but they usually have warped handles, rust, totally faded bags and handles, replaced cords, cracked swivel dome, etc. This one looks like it arrived from the factory yesterday.

Interestingly, it spent it's career working as a feather fluffer for feather pillows and feather stuffed furniture. It was never used as a cleaner. At some point I will post some pictures.
