I got this Electrolux commercial vacuum for $10 and it didn't work, turns out all it was was that the bag in it was too worn out and was bending in and tripping the safety switch causing it too shutoff. Its now working fine other than the brushroll is slightly worn out. The ground prong on the cord is missing so i will probably be replacing the plug or maybe buy a new cord off eBay for it.

those machines are not all too bad, they have quite a bit of power and a great amount of airflow. when the hose is attached I tend to think that it pulls as much as a model E unless the bag is chock full of fine dust and dirt. I have 4 of them but different models. all share the same body style and motors. the one that I have that is the same as this machine I usually use for commercial use.

This my be your lucky day...

have you hit the reset button? I got one of these that didn't work and that is all it needed. The button is on the back, it resets the machine if the auto shut off safety feature gets tripped, while sucking up a sock or whatever.

Re: have you hit the reset button?

Thanks, but that's not the problem, the problem is the little switch that sits under the bag lip and won't let the vacuum turn on when there isn't a bag, for now if just taped it down until I get a new bag.

Electrolux Commercial

Great vac,Great price. This was the first comm that was different from the standard Discovery in that it had slightly different base with replacable bumper, different screws on bag housing, different handle, etc.First had switch at handle grip, later moved to top of bag housing.Easiest bag change and very good for comm users as you just turn on and push.
