So my one of my favorite canister vacuum cleaner Philips P74 Electronic from the mid 80's needed a powerhead.
It had already connections for the powerhead. I made those myself like for the all other straight suction canisters what I have.
All I needed was the powerhead. So I own a Shark Rocket stick vacuum with a quite good powerhead and I only use it on bare floors with a hard floor nozzle.
Powerhead part was pretty much unused, because Shark poor suction/airflow for the carpet cleaning.
I must say this is one of my all time favorite powerteam.
Philips is very quiet with good airflow/suction (92 cfm from the hose end) and it's quite rare. When it was new it was priced similar as the Miele of the same era.
Using this combination is a joy. Powerhead is light, it grooms the carpet very well and Philips sound is pleasing to my ears.
I know that many vacuum "fanatics" want to keep their vacuums fully original, but apart from the wiring for the powerhead this is original. I have original pipe for this if I want to use it as a straight suction vacuum.
