I had a customer tell the just this week that he had an Electrolux salesman come by to demo the new Lux and when he saw that the old guy already had the Lux classic which is the cheaper lowend still being sold today, he told my customer that Electrolux had discontinued the bigger models AKA the Guardian and now only make the Electrolux classic because they are wanting to save on budget and make a smaller cheaper machine that does everything the big boys do. and all this for 1095.00 That's with the Floor Pro Shampoower. Is any of this crap true?? I think he was just wanting to sell some of his left over classics. For those of you who don't know what the classic looks like, it's the same thing as the 2100. I sold a few of them new in 2003 as the cheaper model for those who didn't want to buy the (then) 1699.99 Guardian. I think the classic went for 499.99 and then you added 799 or 899.99 for the floor pro.

Aerus new models

Phillip,
I don't think that is true because they are getting ready to launch a new top of the line machine that will have the hepa filter enclosed in the machine. Maybe they have stopped producing the Guardian as we know it today because of the new models coming out.

What a shame

Aerus did away with the old aluminum wands! Why did they do that? I'm thinking about geting a new Lux Classic but the pic shows it has steel wands 4 Power Nozzle & 2 PLASTIC wands 2 use with tools

I have a friend who bought a classic lux a couple of years ago
and he bought the metal wands and the flip carpet/floor tool
as an extra. Don't know how much, but they were more then glad (in
Florida at the time) to sell them to him !

Speaking of the Lux classic, did anyone ever see a straight suction version? I was at an Aerus shop a few years ago and the salesperson showed me one. It didn't have a power nozzle, power hose, or even an electrical connection on the hose inlet. It just came with the combo tool and the bare floor tool. Given the trend towards wood/laminate floors it makes sense, although it was odd to see a modern Electrolux without a power nozzle.

Talked to Aerus service tech who I buy from

Hi,

Yesterday I talked to an Aerus service tech, who I buy from. The new guardian won't be in for 3 to 6 weeks. It is white with gray trim. The classic already has the white with gray trim and so is the upright. No changes on the upright, they added the hepa filter which looks misplaced like the old guardian. Why can't they use the setup ProTeam has for the hepa filter. It's inside the lower housing? Also why would Aerus go with white and gray? that was the color before white and blue. Ever since Aerus sold the Electrolux name, they have not put much effort into their machines. This is too bad.....
