I purchased a brand new Aerus Electrolux Central Vacuum kit, and while I like it, the power nozzle just doesn't seem to grip to the floor like the Hoover (Futura, Windtunnel, Quadraflex) and Centec CPB-100S (Riccar), wondering if that's a good thing or not. I do like the kit as everything is ergonomic, much more comfortable than the other sets I've owned. I have a two motor central vacuum system so airflow/suction is not an issue, but I'm wondering if the Lux nozzle can be lowered more and is it doing the job of loosening and lifting the deep dirt.

Enlighten me, what's better, hard and aggressive or gentle and easy? Also the kit is all black and has the "new" power nozzle, its quieter but I don't really know if it cleans better.

Thanks

Ya know

You could look into a used tristar EXL/MG/MG2 nozzle as far as i know it is compatible with the guardian ultra/platinum styled hose which yours seems to be.

It lacks a headlight but the top cover is made of metal it adds more weight to the nozzle so it digs in better than the lux ones do.

Thanks for the responses, @blackheart the tristar power nozzle looks huge, is it a little bigger or the same size.

@Luxman17, I wish I could say the same, the nozzle is grooming the carpet but it feels more like it is grazing the top, the other nozzles I have really glue themselves down. What I will say is that I actually enjoying using the lux more because its so easy to use compared to the other sets. No crunched hoses, unweildly power nozzles, and best of all my hand doesn't hurt after use.

.

The tristar nozzle is the same size as the lux nozzle it uses the same brushroll the additional weight from the cover and lack of a headlight are really the only differences, as far as i know.

The TriStar EXL PN won't fit because the Central Vacuum Kit has the Epic 6500 style wands, which are a bit larger in diameter

Is the older style CVK still available from Lux?

Oh....

Good eye Erik. I figured it would use the same connections as the newest canister but looking at the handle on it it does appear to be the older bulker style which would not work with the tristar, I apologize for the confusion on that.

Vaclov,

the air coming out the vent is from the cooling fan on the power nozzle motor. The Power nozzle is sealed for vacuuming. The power nozzle has the slits and grooves underneath to let the airflow better.

I checked the nozzle, tig21er, with the motor off and still noticed air leakage, but my other nozzles do that as well. Havent' had a lux in over 10 yrs, the only thing i can do is tear it open but since its brand new, I might just need to get use to it.

Similar to what was said above, and it sounds like you understand it as well - from what I understand about suction/airflow, you really don't want any powernozzle to feel "glued down" to the carpet. That means there's not a whole lot of airflow (or as much airflow) going through the nozzle, and ultimately the effectiveness of cleaning is lowered. The vacuum will work more efficiently if in fact there is an abundance of airflow to actually move the dirt from the carpet to the central vac unit, quickly. Maybe the air you are feeling is helping achieve more airflow?
