VacuumLand – Vintage & Modern Vacuum Enthusiasts

Help Support VacuumLand:

The AEG name has of course reappeared recently on vacuums in the UK as the Swedish made Ultra range, although these are sold across Europe as Electrolux. I'm not sure how well these sold as I haven't seen any in use and I'm not sure if the major stores are still stocking them. They seem to be far popular in main land Europe where high performing, well made cylinders are big sellers due to 90% of homes using cylinders rather than uprights across Europe (most probably the reason why Miele only ventured into the upright market in recent years)

AEG Vacs

Hi as a kid one of the vacuums we had was an AEG in the mid 60s it was a bit like a Vorwerk only better, small hand held with a set of attachments and a PN,its one vac I've never seen on here. I'm looking for something like it now to replace my Sebo felix ( total waste of money) I need a vac that will clean hand made rugs polished surrounds and stairs. most uprights are to harsh on rugs and suctions only is not good at dog hair, we've got 2 Dals. The most efective is a Miele with a PN that no longer avilible in the UK, but its not good for quick daily clean ups. heavy, short hose that has only one felixy joint and is to hard and rigged. ON the + side very very well made and the new dusting attachment is fantastic.

to replace my Sebo felix ( total waste of money)

Ooohh no you did not just say that! I love Sebo's. I have the x1.1 and my Mum has the Felix. Fantastic vacs.

Have you thought about the Henry Hound/Turbo with the Powernozzle? Fantastic, british made cleaners, reliable, robust, excellent suction and the powernozzle, though large, does a great job!

Sebo

HI I have 3 Sebo's 1 good 2 bad the X1 no problems realy only a new switch in 3 years Then the 1st felex I loved it I had the cream and red but I had problems with the cable and switch + I found Sebo very unhelpful to deal with and gave it to a good home. 2 years later I saw the felix pet in black and silver and thinking I had just been very unlucky i had to have it. After the 1 6/9 mouths it had a the same faults as the 1st one and Sebo just as unhelpful charged me somthing like £50.0 to replace the cable they claimed it had been pulled. Simply not true however it was a good vacuum so I paid up. 6/9 months later same fault so I took it to my local dealer who told me its very common and showed me a row of Sebo's all with the same fault, he also said he has now stopped stocking as Sebo have been aware of the problem of poor cables for a number of years, but I suppose its a good income for them. The dealer did replace the cable but now just week later it need a new switch.
I love the Felix and its one of the best machines for my home. Its still in the back of the cupboard and I may yet give in and send it back to Sebo to be ripped off yet again unless I can find something better. I'm looking at a Vorwerk at the moment. I loved my Sebo but they really need to address there customer service dept. And the cabling problems
