I am considering purchasing a new upright vacuum and would like some advice from the experts on this forum. Currently I am considering the Pro-team ProGen , the Areus upright, or the Sebo Felix. I have old brick flooring that is very rough, and Persian rugs in my home. Allergies are a concern. any advice would be appreciated.

Of the three options you're considering it sounds like the Sebo would be the best fit. I would use the parquet brush on your brick floors as the stationary brushes would help deal with the rough texture better than just shutting off the power nozzle.
As for your rugs you would probably want to use the powerhead....but you might want the softer brushroll for that. I'm not completely sure about that as i am not familiar with persian rugs, however I'm sure more knowledgeable members shall chime in on this.

Definitely go for the SEBO if you can. It is a good investment. Buy one and it will last you years. Performance wise they are incredible. I have the parquet floor brush and although my floors are level, it is designed to work on all types of hard flooring. You will love it. They are very nice vacuum cleaners.

The beauty of the Felix is that it has interchanegable brush rolls, so with the delicate brush bar, it would be able to clean silk and persian quite well, and without tearing the loops. I currently run two SEBO uprights with my wool carpets - and I also have Indian silk rugs.

CC, if you are going to be cleaning Persian rugs, then there's only one choice here....the Sebo Felix. None of these other uprights, to my knowledge, can swap the powerhead out for a rug/floor nozzle to clean delicate rugs.
As for cleaning your Persian rugs, I would strongly suggest using the rug/floor nozzle 90% of the time, followed by, say, using the PN perhaps once a month for a more thorough cleaning. Using a PN extensively on Oriental & Persian rugs will DRASTICALLY shorten their lifespan, regardless of how soft the brushroll is.

I do house cleaning and recommend ...
I would go to the Aerus or Riccar style upright with attachments. You can get extension hoses for dirt cheap pre-sized or by the foot from your local vacuum shop. Attach that to any vacuum cleaner with a hose and do all of your hard surface flooring with a Bare floor brush and get a rug nozzle for your persion rug. For a decent bare floor brush, combo straight suction rug nozzle, 8' hose approximate hose, you're probably looking a ballpark of around $50 +/-. That would be adaptable to essential any upright vacuum on the market, just bring in what you have or are buying from them and they'll get the proper adapter to fit your hose if an adapter is needed.
Then you have the upright with regular brush roll for once a month cleaning of Persian Rug and other rugs in your house.
I've tried a few Sebo machines on various cleaning jobs and have not found a machine of theirs that I was happy with the cleaning performance of. Handles weren't comfortable, controls awkward and in some cases very small like the brush roll on/off switch was a teeny button on power head that you had to bend down to use cause using a foot rarely activates it properly with out the right angle. I just haven't found Sebo stuff as user friendly and powerful compared to various other brands like Riccar, Simplicity, Hoover, Aerus, Panasonic and many others!
Just my 2 cents from Residential and Commercial cleaning for years and LOTS of different vacuum cleaners repair and usage!!

Thanks for all the great advice! I have used an Aerus canister for all cleaning needs for years. However we need an upright now for when we cannot pull out the canister. I live in a rural area and there are no vacuum shops within a 75 mile radius, and no local Aerus dealer. It is difficult to test drive models and I purchase online. I really would like a TOL machine that can hold up to the brick floors and move straight to the rugs. Must be light and simple for my occasional helper, and allergy friendly, so I generally prefer bagged to bagless.

Maytag M700 or higher scale M1200 with 2 suction motors.
TOL, that's a decent weight, with great performance. I've tried one of these in person but from the description and what I've heard from some others, these new Maytag units, sound great. Not sure where to purchase online yet. Maybe an appliance store that you use can order and ship to you?
They have 3 models and the M700 sounds easy to use, not too heavy, some very nice options but not complex. Description says it transfers and adjusts easily between surfaces.

If those Maytags have metal sole plates, they are in danger of scratching the tile.
It would be helpful if members take into consideration what the original poster requires here.
Interesting regarding SEBO. The handles are designed to be ergonomic. The one on the Felix is easier to handle than the blockier styles on Windsor vacuums in my experience. As for the alternative suggestion of hooking up a hose to the existing hose and basically dragging the upright along with the hose, the extension hose AND a soft brush at the end, is a bit of a faff! Honestly? If you want to clean tile floor, you'll want a machine that does it one without dragging something extra along.
The other thing to remember with the SEBO Felix is that SEBO also offer a hard disc non-wet polisher head attachment that you consider years later your tile floors require polishing. The disc (known as "SEBO DISCO") can also do a number of different floor textures.
