HEPA Filtration- Dyson has it too
VERY VERY large bin compacity- Dyson has it too, and British homes are small
Voted a Consumer's Best Buy (Even the Stickers hold up on a Fantom!)-So has Dyson Recently and back in the day
Long Telescoping hose+handle combination (Not to mention you can connect UNLIMITED extension hoses!)Dyson does not need a lot of extension hoses in a small British home
Easy-Access blockage removal doors- Dyson has air ways you can take off, without tools.
DUAL HEADLIGHTS! (Something DYSON cannot see the "light" in, Pun intended, of course!) - You gonna vacuum in a powercut?
VERY Easy To Empty dust bin.- So is Dyson
Rated for COMMERCIAL USE (Remember, The Thunder is a Commercial design originally known as the "Vectron"!)- Dyson DC04 constant max can
On-Board Floor Tool (You'd have to carry it around on that DYSON!)- I will give you that +1

2 Screws to change a belt (And Headlights!)-NO CLUTCHES REQUIRED! - You do not need any tools to take a soleplate off a non clutched one which is all you need. Just a coin which most people have in their pockets

ALSO AUTOMATIC Filter Replacement Indicator. Button shows RED when filter requires replacement!- Dyson stops sucking after a few years. People are meant to wash it every 6 months
Easy and reliable spring-loaded Handle Release (A nice Push-Button, I've never seen a broken one! I've seen plenty of broken Dyson ones!)- Is that what Kirby has?
HUGE and reliable motors. I've NEVER seen a Thunder or Fury model with a bad motor!- Early Dysons are rarely seen with burnt out motors.

Durability- Dyson has it too

Reliable handle release? Most dysons don't even have one. And as for fantom, I have two furys and a cyclone xt AND a lightning with broken handle releases.
Reliable motors? The fury used a cheap and dumbed down motor and I have two with either bad or going-bad motors. And one of my two thunders is having a major arcing problem.
Extension hoses? You need them for the fantoms if you plan on vacuuming your stairs. Since the dc01 dyson has had a stair cleaning hose.
And at least dysons protect their motor with pre filters, something Iona was too lazy to do.
As far as the durability issues I described above, none ocured in my use and all happened prior to my ownership.

In what world does Kirby have a telescoping handle? I'll be putting the Thunder against the DC07 shortly, then you'll understand why the Fantom is superior.

Oh my, how do you empty a Dc07? I have a very fragile mint British 2001 Dc07 and it gets emptied properly with nothing breaking or snapping off. Just pull the trigger, and take the bin off by un releasing it simply with the catch provided.
PS The Dyson does not have any foot pedals which break, you can jump on a dyson cleaner head to kick it down, stomp on it or whatever you want and it is that reliable.

The downfall of Fantom
was the fact that there was NO pre-motor filtration on the Thunder and Fury. Just a screen to catch 'fluff'. The idea was to fill the $75 Hepa filter every two years. Once James invented MEMA filters (Maximum Efficiency - Maximum Airflow) that could be washed, Fantom wanted nothing to do with them. They were "in the business" of selling filters. Which is one reason James did NOT allow them to use his patents after the ten year contract expired.
To the Dyson's credit, even the first model (DC01) had a pre-motor filter.

And you bet your bwerks it will be on YouTube! So far the results are in Fantom's favor, but I'm even giving the DC07 a second chance to beat the Fantom by washing the filters. The tests should be done by next week.I'll start a thread with the results.
