Some of the best cleaning and longest lasting vacuum cleaners ever manufactured in my opinion. Also just plain beautiful :)

That's a FANTASTIC lineup you have there! I have always been fond of the Hoover Convertible / Decade line of vacuums and that Green & White vac you have (model U4127?) is one of my all-time favorites! Once upon a time, I had somewhere around nine or ten identical models of that green/white Convertible. Thanks for posting!

Thanks :) the green convertible and the grey decade 80 are my favorites ah what the hell who am I kidding I love them all lol.

HOOVERS

I gave my Decade to my daughter for her first place last year. I get to use it once in awhile when I go there. She thinks it is old fashioned. I work retail part time and told her it beats any vac I have to offer my customers.

Oldies, but goodies

I agree, and shout out a rebel yell to-yah! Those are some mighty fine machines you have, indeed. These three pictured here, all donned in Saint Anthony's cross are still running strong, since almost when - The War Between The States, and they're still pretty easy on the eyes too.

You're Right!

A true classic never goes out of style! These classic Hoovers are (left to right) model 541, 541 Special, 700, 725, 425, 450, and 825.

What can I say - WOW, and they got all of their rubber bumpers too. Condition wise - Amazing! Bags are out of sight! Now that's a collection. Thanks, again for the great photo, Calem

Calem,

Thank you for the compliments, glad you enjoyed them. But I can't take credit for their condition, as they were in great shape when I got them. The 541 and 541 Special have replacement bags and cords, but the bag on the 541 is a genuine Hoover bag, and the previous owner had the brushrolls rebristled on both of them. The 700 and 425 are ALL original, the 725 is all original except the cord, but it does have the original and rare Hoover plug on the end of it. The 450 and 825 are all original except the bags, but they are genuine Hoover, the one on the 450 being from a later Hoover Commercial model (913?), and the one on the 825 being either from a 305 or a genuine Hoover replacement.

Nice collection, bravokid! By the way, which model is second to left in your photo, and what was the year of manufacture (or era if you don't know about your particular sweeper)? I just saw one in a thrift store exactly like it, although I didn't check the price. I used to have a convertible U4317 which I gave to my niece for her apartment. In the process of cleaning it and removing the outer bag I noticed the digits "75" in a circle, so I took for granted that that meant the year of manufacture was 1975.

P. S. I didn't realize that there was a Rochester, MI. We have one in MN (home of the world-famous Mayo Clinic), and I knew there was one in NY. Found some etymology online: "Rochester originated as the name of a town in Kent, England, and is now the name of several towns in the U.S. It means 'roof of a fort' or 'rocky fortress'."

Its a 1985 Kmart custom convertible. Their middle of the line model. And BTW Hygiene903 I am in awe over your vintage Collection .

Hi, Dennie,

Thanks for the information. I went back to the thrift store today to find out the model id of the one I thought was identical to it: a Hoover U4387 Convertible (priced at $13.00). Next to it was a 1425G Eureka for $32.00. Those will be good deals for someone--especially if they happen to purchase them on 1/2 off days!

Take care,

Paul
