This is a thread that I started to talk about Kirby’s mainly, first question where does the air from exhaust vent take air from? I see where it comes out but where does the air go in to cool the motor? This question applies from the Generation 3 All up to the new Avalir.

The cooling fan takes and releases air on the same side of the machine, back of the suction fan.I know older ones were in one side out the other.I think on the G series its drawn in likely around the power switch? A guess.

David, you are correct.

On the G series, air is drawn in through the rear of the machine around the power switch area and then over the transmission to help cool it. It then is drawn through the rear of the motor and through the motor windings before exiting through the side air exit vent.
