Finally!! With lots of help from Rick, I'm going to be able to post pics! For my first one, Here's a weird Westinghouse that my Uncle, who always keeps an eye out when he travels on business, gave me a couple of years ago, from sn estate sale. Enjoy, and more to follow.

Great job Toby!!!!

The picture above of the green and pink Hoover Constellation turned out wonderfully!!!! Glad I was able to help!

What?

Oh! Alan.....

Not the Palm Beach model. The 1969 pink Volkswagen Beetle model with the lime green Flower Power stickers!!!!

Toby, I am so happy that you are going to be able to post pictures now!!!YAY That is one beautiful Westinghouse. If I am not mistaken I think at one time they made that machine in a turquoise color as well. Thanks so much for sharing the picture with us. Terry

That vacuum was also known as the Westinghouse Mobile Speed

According to Lucille Ball in the 1958 Westinghouse Promo she and Desi, Bill, and Vivian were in. Like Desi said.... you can be sure if its Westin-Gouse. PAT

Nice Find, Toby!!

That's one beautiful Westinghouse!! They were popular where I grew up in Mansfield, OH. Westinghouse had a plant there and most of the employees would buy nothing else--a lot of all Westinghouse homes in that town!!
Congratulations,
Jeff

A Strange Westinghouse

Toby,
Thanks for the picture.I have never seen one in person. I remember seeing it on an old TV show called Pete and Gladyas in the late 50's.
Terry is correct about the model in torquoise. I have a advertising folder from Westinghouse that shows that cleaner in torquoise and it has a different style tools and rug tool. I think yours is a beautiful color.

Wow...what a real rare bird you have....

Toby,

What a wonderful collection you have. Besides this Westinghouse "Mobile Speed" and Lewyt Eectronic, you have a garage of dreams there.

In reguards to the Westinghouse, I have never seen one of these in person, but we used to have a little old lady that cam into my original shop I worked for In Lansing, asking many times if we had the bags for one of those things. She would NEVER trade it in of course, so alas I never saw it.

The Lewyt on the other hand is breathtaking. Besides Robert Seger, who found one similar, but without the powerhead, you prolly have the only one in captivity that I know of. It's unfortunate that it no longer operates as "factory". I wonder what happened to the very complex electrical system, that won't allow the "beater sweeper" to work?

All in all I love to see collectors babies. We work so hard to find them, restore them and keep them around, that it's nice to be able to show our pride and joy's every now and then.

Finally, your Swivel-Top collection is awesome. Nevr have seen so many in one spot...!!! Do you have the elusive power head model like what was on e-bay recently?

Anyway...just wanted to throw in my thoughts!

Thanks

Hey Chad! Thanks much for the kind words on the collection. As for the swivel-tops, I do have a Premier with the power head in harvest gold and white without the cord rewinder. Hellooo 1970's!! I also have 2 GE STs that are in the original boxes in near mint condition, and I'll try to post pics of them all this weekend. Later, Trg

Lewyt Electronic! Where? What thread did I miss?

Anyway, here's another one in captivity. Now I hope I'm not trespassing but Oneida Chris has this one in a dark corner of his shop. Slated for massive restoration perhaps, sadly the bucket is so rusted out by a splash of Alien acid blood, it has eaten right through the metal sides and bottom. An interesting note, the PN cord has a regular twin blade AC type plug that fits a matching receptacle you can just make out above the power switch toggle. Wished I'd done a better focused picture.
