Edgar,
"Does that mean my 1205 came from Canada?" No, it means that Canada introduced the US market to direct-connect hoses. It actually began with the Model G around 1966 during the switch from aqua to tan, so some aqua ones were made and some tan; although no one has ever posted a photo of one on Vacuumland.
The direct-connect hoses were introduced in 1969 for the 1205 and teal Model L, but were discontinued around 1971 (according to user manuals) due to the cracking potential and not having gotten UL approval—or something like that. From 1971 to 1974 the gooseneck grip was used again with the direct-connect coupling. The revised pistol grip was introduced in late 1974—after the 50th Jubilee cleaner was introduced.
________
All,
Teal Model L power nozzles & hoses
1968-1973 PN-1 (teal with white bumper); teal hose w/white tracers
1973-1975 PN-2 w/jade elbow and teal wand sheath & power cord; teal hose was used until 1974, then white hose with teal/gold/teal tracers like the 50th Jubilee's was used
All tools were teal, but the later floor/rug combo tool was ivory with a teal brush plate.
