A flawed test of series vs parallel setups.

I've been wanting to try this out for a while. since I have two Oreck Buster B's I thought it would be interesting to hook them into a parallel setup and see how it differed from a series setup

Unfortunately things did not go as planned! The first time I tried a parallel test the units were clearly not sealed
The series test resulted in leakage from the body of the 1st unit. I felt they weren't working together as well as they should have been. All I did was connect the hose of the 2nd unit to the exhaust port of the first unit.

It was after testing both those I decided I should have a control setup so then I ran the tests on a single buster B with the central vac hose. I was surprised that it has as much airflow as it had at the end of such a long hose.

Then I spent time re-setting the parallel setup trying to get a better seal and the back pressure created when the hose was attached cause the bucket to begin collapsing. When I tried to take a sealed suction test the bucket caved in and broke seals.

Since i'm feeling lazy here's the CFM number
Parallel initial: 50.87 CFM
Series: (estimated 2200) 57.42 CFM
Single Unit: 53.95 CFM
Parallel (Bucket) 131.02 CFM
Parallel final: 75.5 CFM

Are there better ways to test this? Certainly but the cost of it would be much higher and i'm not curious enough to spend the money.

Hmm

Idk would a extra shopvac to run bypass unit. It would be the vacuum taking the kids and the gain. It may not be possible just thinking out loud.
