a couple interesting items on ebay

Found a few items that look interesting, I think they are actually similar, basically they are supposed to allow you to add an electric power nozzle to just about any backpack. The only requirement is that it use an extension cord rather than have the cord be hardwired to the vacuum. I'm assuming there is probably some kind of Y adapter that the extension cord plugs in to, then the backpack plugs in to one connector, and the included electric hose connects to the other? Since I'm a blind person, I have no idea what this looks like but that's the logical way I would think it would work. Does anyone know what power head this is? Based on the description, I'm guessing it's either the Wessel Werk EBK 360 or something from Centec. Anyway, here is the version that is supposed to be for Pro-team models.

power head

I asked the seller which power head it was, indeed, it's the Wessel Werk ebk360. As far as I know, that's the only power head that uses LEDs for the headlight.

I don't know exactly what brand or model of power head those are, but they are definitely not the EBK-360

There are no bottom photos of the power nozzles. That would identify it.


It looks like a cheaper power nozzle. The quality does not come close to a Wessel-Werk,


 


Update, the power nozzle is marketed as a GV power nozzle, made in China, the power nozzle alone sells for $100

That actually sounds like a centec power head. I may get it foor the power head adapter, I could probably connect my Sebo or Lindhaus power nozzle to it.

Probably not a Centec, but similar. I looked at the power nozzles in the Centec catalog and did see some similar, but not exact. The GV power nozzle is an exact match.

got the kit, it's a great backpack upgrade

So, I went ahead and bought this kit, I will include a link to the site I bought it from, I'm not sure if it's still on ebay, it's a great upgrade for a backpack. It includes an electric hose, a telescopic wand with cord management, the adapter to connect the electric hose to the extension cord, and the power nozzle itself. The adapter is kind of cool, you plug your extension cord in to it, it includes a regular female outlet to connect the pigtail cord of the backpack vacuum, and a standard mini female connector to connect the electric hose. The hose actually has a rather thin diameter, I'm not sure if this would change performance from a regular backpack hose, airflow might be a bit less. One end has a pigtail cord that plugs in to the adapter and goes in to the top of any backpack, it fit my sanitaire backpack just fine, I don't see why it wouldn't fit the others. The other end of the hose is a gas pump handle with a suction releaf switch and a power switch for the power nozzle. Interestingly, the included power nozzle also has a power switch, remember to turn that on or you may think the hose or power nozzle is bad, this actually happened to me until I noticed the button on the power nozzle itself. The connector on the end of the hose is the typical two prong connector, so you could actually connect lots of different power nozzles using this kit, the nozzles from Lindhaus, Riccar and Sebo come to mind. The power nozzle itself also has a pig tail cord with a mini connector, so you could use it with other vacuums that had electric hoses including central vacuums. Interestingly, if you turn on the power nozzle first, then turn on the backpack, you will notice the power nozzle slows down slightly, I'm not sure if the backpack motor and the power nozzle motor are drawing more than the outlet can provide, the slow down is not drastic, but it is noticeable. The power nozzle has six height adjustments and uses LEDs for the headlight. It also uses a long lasting belt.
There are a couple of backpacks that I have that this kit will not work on, because of bad design ideas by the manufacturers. It will not work on the powr-flite comfort pro backpack because it does not use a pig tail that connects to an extension cord. Instead, the 50 foot cord is hard wired in to the vacuum, I would love to find a way of converting this to use a pig tail cord instead, wonder if that's possible. It also will not work with the Sandia Raven backpack because the hose is part of the lid assembly and cannot be separated, again, a terrible design idea. It's also not needed with the Perfect PB1001 because this vacuum already provides a hook up for a power nozzle. This really is a great upgrade since most backpacks don't provide an electric hook up for a power nozzle.

The carpet height indicator window reminds me a lot of Centec, as does the headlight lens.

I know this company

They are about 30 miles away from where I live. I've done business with them before and they are outstanding! They mainly get some vacuums people don't want anymore and resell them refurbished, I've seen how they refurbished their vacuums by photos and I gotta say I'm impressed. They also sell their own products such as GV that I barely know of but I do know that they are made by a Chinese manufacturer, and Prolux which I know a few companies make for (Mainly TTI). They also sold lots of products on some websites such as overstock, ebay, and amazon.

Highly recommend Greatvacs.

great vacs

They seem like a good company, would be good for someone who wanted to get a Kirby or Rainbow at a good price. They also sell a few battery powered backpack vacuums, while these are portable, I would think they would be far less possible, but here's an interesting idea. Take a rechargeable backpack vacuum and combine it with the volt power nozzle that Tacony is coming out with, wonder how that would clean.
