They also have them.....

Listed on their website. If you order from them. You can also select a dealer that you want them to have send them to you or buy them direct.

Charcoal filters

Has anyone tried those new charcoal pre-motor filters yet? I too saw them listed on the Aerus website and I thought I would pick up a pack for my Renaissance at my Lux dealer when I was there to buy some after filters. When I asked the about these filters the lady looked at me like I had two heads and said it must be an aftermarket item, she had no knowledge such filter existed. This lady has been working at the Lux branch as a sales person for as long as I can remember, probably 20 years, and she knows me and that I know about vacuums, so I was surprised she hadn't heard of them.

The Lux dealer only had the new Legacy and Classic on display, they had the all white upright and no Guardian Platinum, which I really wanted to try out. The dealer has been in the same spot my entire life and I've never seen the showroom floor look so empty, it was kind of sad. Electrolux has alway been a popular brand in this area, I hope it's not a sign that they aren't doing well. The sales women did rave about the Platinum and said if I'm in the market for one she could get me one for a good deal. She did mention that most customers have been buying the older models because most of her customers homes have such little carpeting, they can't justify the need for all the extra power and money when all they have to clean are hard floors and area rugs, or minimal wall to wall. I love how all the machines look in black!!

I am originally from Long Island, now Maryland... but I have bought vacuums from the Commack Aerus in the past. The Aerus brand is a dying breed on LI my friend, and I think the Commack location is probably the only decently operated branch still in existence, several have closed in the last ten years there. I do have the carbon filters for my Aerus vacuums, they work great! I recommend them.

I apologize. They are available for the R style cleaners. Let your Aerus dealer know about these after the bag charcoal filters., even I didn't know and I sell Aerus.

The Aerus stores

Have switched to "franchise" ownership .
So that has a lot to do with physical stores closing.
It's my understanding that with the way the franchise stores are set up is the owner has to purchase each machine for the store display .(big expense)

The way it was before , the company would supply the store with all the new models for each store.
My guess is that it may be too expensive to purchase the machines ..
The Aerus brand itself is not dying.

George, the store on Commack Rd is the only one I've ever been to. I was born and raised in Commack, still live here, and that Electrolux branch has been there for as long as I can possibly remember. I know there was another location in West Islip on Montauk Highway by the Robert Moses PKWY but I think they are now closed. The Commack branch is half the size it used to be, they used to have a whole separate service department with a full time service man in the branch. The latest owner really needs to have the current line up on display, how else will customers be able to see or try the product? The sales lady didn't even have the Lux Platinum in stock, so it sounded like they would only get the Platinum if you asked them to order one. There is a setup for the Central Lux, and an attachment kit on the wall, but no actuall Central Lux unit. I just seems like a poor business decision to not have the current machines on display, especially since it's such a small model line up.

Brad, I always thought that Electrolux branches were always independently owned franchises. I could be wrong but maybe it's different in the US then it is in Canada?

Aerus is just poor business sense to begin with. The vacuums are decent, but there is a lack of product knowledge, support, availability of parts and accessories and physical store locations are sparse. Some stores do okay but most have been knocked over by the internet and by competition from Miele and Simplicity, which are great machines at better price points.

George

That's clearly your opinion obviously they are still in business and doing quite well , the way you talk about Aerus you make it like they are going out of business which is far from reality .
Aerus does very well and customers can always call the company for parts and accessories if they can't find an Aerus store in their town .

I am sure the company LLC does well, but many franchises have gone out nationally. I am not sure of the future or the LLCs growth strategies, I hope for the best, but Aerus is a less common name for now.

It's really funny... I went out to my local Aerus store today planning to buy a new white Lux Legacy (like what's on the Aerus website), but by the time I arrived, the store had already closed for the day. I came home disappointed, but once here, I found out that there are new, all-black 90th Anniversary models. Crazy. And to think I was worried Aerus might have been readying to discontinue the classic body style (I hope they never do...), but obviously they are not disconinuing them if they've invested in updating the colors yet again.

Question: do you think most Aerus stores have the black Legacy/Classic models in stock by now, or do you think they probably mostly still carry the old white versions?

I'm a bit torn. Of course I'm drawn to the special edition versions, and the new hose is really nice looking, but I actually think I like the look of the white versions better since they remind me of my old Diamond Jubilee more. I'm sure I'll want the 90th versions though. It also makes me wonder what the 2015 models will look like... still black, back to white, a different color scheme, or discontinued?

My guess is that the Legacy/Classic will continue to be sold in black for several years in order to reduce production costs associated with manufacturing tools/accessories all in black now, versus having separate white accessories for the classic body vacuums. Maybe for 2015, the bodies will return to white, but the trim, hoses, and accessories will be black (to keep sharing accessories with the Platinum).

I am an Aerus consultant and have 2 white legacy's left in stock... classics are all in black, and look quite nice. Message me if you want a White Legacy and I'll be happy to ship one to you.

Tom--sent you an email. Thanks for the offer =) not sure I can make it work since I already purchased a black Legacy, but we'll see. I really like white, too. <<<---kid in a candy shop syndrome.

I am actually interested in an air purifier for my allergies... what pricing do you have? can you message me.

Do Aerus/Electrolux still make the PN with headlight for metal wands? Is the Epic 6000 style filter cover still available? If I buy the Legacy, I plan to buy the classic style tools

[this post was last edited: 6/10/2014-20:27]

floor-a-matic: The lighted PN is or was still available to order as of a few months ago, I bought one myself then. I can check tomorrow when I see the Service Manager to be certain. I will have to check on the cover for the Epic 6000, spares may still be available but are rather thin on the ground the last time I checked, which was a few years ago now.

This post confuses me a bit Lol. Are you asking about NOS/replacement parts for an old machine, or new parts for a new machine?

Aerus currently sells a steel wand machine, the Lux Classic, which comes with all classic tools, wands, and parts closely resembling the 1521 steel body machines (Diamond Jubilee through Ultra Lux). The power nozzle is not lighted though.th

The Lux Legacy is the new name for the old Electrolux Epic series. These machines have plastic wands/tools and do come with lighted power nozzels.

If you're looking for NOS/replacement parts, you might have better luck on Ebay. Someone is always selling for-parts machines.

I mean the lighted black PN for metal wands & black Epic 6000 style filter cover to match the 90th Anniversary Legacy

Is there a HEPA motor filter for the machines that use type C bags?
