I have been looking into 70s vacuum a bit more heavily, and I have hit a wall with central vacs. We didn't get central vacs at that point, though I know there were some pretty cool machines. I have watched all the Owen Perkins videos (literally all of them, even though I already have in the past) to get up to date on Thomas, Beamco, Nutone, Walvac, Cleanmaster, Vacuflo, Vacumaid and Filtex. Beyond that, I can't find much. It might be the internet thinking I don't care about American stuff, because I am in NZ, though I don't know. Any help would be appreciated.

Also look at Sears Kenmore. Made by Whirlpool who called theirs the Jack Vac when homes had phone jacks. Sears catalogs would have 1or 2 pages for central vacs with the other vac pages. They also had an insert in bag packs that said 'This hole in the wall will clean your house '.There was an economy model I've never seen, the more common better model and the deluxe that connected to plumbing and flushed dirt down the drain when vac shut off. The Kenmore tool caddy for central vac was same as that on lid of Sears best canister and hung under the hose rack. There was also a 60s central vac with a hose reel in the wall that I know nothing else about. If I could show pictures with less problems than trying to show FQ pictures yesterday you could see my Tevis McGee with the 'dust bubble '!!

Electrolux Corporation and Electrolux Canada, Inc. also sold the CVS's, the same models in each country—initially manufactured in by Easy-Flo Central Vacuum Systems Ltd. of Chilliwack, BC; other manufacturing, if any, is unknown to me.

1986-c.1998 Electrolux brand models:
  • 1561 (sold in CA only?)—Jadestone and Light Sand Gray
  • 1569—Jadestone and Light Sand Gray
  • 1580—black motor housing/stainless steel canister
  • 1584—black motor housing/stainless steel canister
  • 1590—black motor housing/gray canister
  • 1590A—hammertone black motor housing and canister

c.1998-present—"CentraLux"—Aerus Holdings LLC (using 'Electrolux' brand through 2003; then Aerus Lux); styling is undetermined at this time
  • E130A—75th Anniversary decal (1999 was the actual year; though the decals may have been used beginning in 1998)
  • E130 F
  • E130G—first-branded as Aerus Lux
  • E130H
  • E130J
  • E130K
  • E130L (current model)

As for the power nozzles, I am uncertain which models were factory-paired with each canister; these may have been the same as the TOL tank-types, made specifically for the CVS, or a combination of the two.

Check out Doug Smith's website for photos of the 1561 and 1569 on the "Electrolux Canada Misc." page (there are none on the "Electrolux USA Misc." page). http://smithcollection.altervista.org/index.html

Also, as I mentioned on another thread, G-E introduced its CVS, model VS-600, in 1968, which may have been sold until 1972 when the company sold its vacuum cleaner division to Premier, Inc.; I'm unsure if Premier continued it under its own label.
