Best Wax?

has the floor been scrubbed or stripped too a bare floor prior too applying a new coat of finish? U can always go too a custodial supply place, but they may want u too buy a whole case of wax.. local home depo or lowes has zep brand by the gallon. it's decent stuff. speaking from a custodial career for 20yrs.being in a non commercial setting U doubt you will be buffing it? some places choose a wax with less solids, but they buff it more then once a week. some have 20 percent solids or higher and buff only a little bit.. good luck.

Commercial stuff is in a formula that has to be buffed and polished biweekly.

I always used Brite on my linoleum. They stopped making it in 2013 or so, but you can buy old stock on eBay, it is still good. I just cleaned with ammonia and mopped dry then waxed. Never buffed it after, it stays shiny for a few months depending on foot traffic. The new stuff has no Teflon in it and it does not give a glossy wet shine, and it makes the floor look ugly.

If the floors

are a bit worn, a second coat of polish really makes a difference. It depends on what you're using. Some products you can re-coat in an hour or so, others say 24hrs. between coats. The relative humidity has a lot to do with drying times.

I've used commercial products that say not to walk on finished area for at least 24hrs. and up to a week before moving furniture around on the floor! So many formulations so little time! Where I once cleaned apartments they used Mop & Glo, Brite,Armstrong and one I don't see anymore,"Future" DEP has some good products.

If you buy from a janitorial supply business make sure to read the application instructions before buying. Some have you washing twice with a special cleaner/stripper,then rinsing three times and then drying 12 hours to over night before you even think about using the polish. This is for wood floors. Some require mask wearing and plenty of ventilation. Use a good lint free applicator too! Bonn is another good consumer grade floor care brand with several different finishes for finished wood flooring.
