3.35 amp eureka

My local thrift store gave this to me. It needed Nothing done to it to get it to work.I plugged it in and it fired right up sounded ok. It has the original metal fan installed The motor is original I’d like to know the years these were made.

I’d say around 1971 or 1972. This was a very early design for Eureka’s Dial-a-Nap uprights because of the rocker on/off switch on the hood. Later years saw ventilation vents appear on the hood plus a push button power switch on the hood. After 1974, the ratings plate would have said “The Eureka Company”, not Eureka Williams.

Nope....

Earlier then that. I have paperwork from 1969 for the model 2011. That model and one other were the first of the new series of Eureka to have a variable height adjustment. along with the Vanguard with the new Rugulator.

not only does it have a metal fan, but more importantly it had its original bag too! Alot of those bags on the metal Eureka's were often replaced for one of a few reasons. Yours has remained in tact. That is extremely important!

Geez, I wish I could be that lucky. That is a machine that should have fetched at least 20 bucks. Very good condition! Some light cleanup and maintenance and it will be good as new.
Sadly I see trashed out, clogged plasti-vacs going for 20-30 at my local thrift stores.

Thanks for that great brochure Jason! 1969, huh? Now I know when the Dial-a-Nap adjuster made its debut! Two years after the Rugulator....cool.

So we have the Rugulator starting in 1967, the Dial-a-Nap in 1969...and I guess the Vibra-Groomer brush roll in 1971 or 72. Each about two years apart.

The Rugulator, Vibra-groomer were BOTH introduced on the Vanguard in 1969. The Dial-A-Nap was also introduced in 1969 too.

It’s interesting to note that the first Vanguard with box-top bag did not have the Rugulator nor the Vibra-Groomer nor the pan converter for tools. I think that very first version must have been from just a year earlier - 1968.

I think you are refurring to the....

T.V. commercial that is on YouTube. I am thinking the model in that video HAS to be a prototype. I have NEVER seen that model in real life branded as Vanguard. I have only seen the Vanguard name on the one in the brochure that I posted above. Which are model 2080 (enamel hood) 2081 (chrome hood). The one in the commercial is a 2070. I will post a example pic of that model. You will notice that the lable on the cord reel just states "Eureka Cordaway".

My apologies Jae. I love that Eureka 2070 tv commercial...just so calm and understated. Must be the last Eureka Williams upright to have that top-side hose port.

You have some amazing Eureka memorabilia. The commercials and the literature bring back so many wonderful personal memories from my childhood.
