Disassembling a Eureka Air Speed AS1000 for switch

I have taken this unit apart to access and clean the switch. I am stumped for removing upper section from base. All screws are Torx head. Need to remove inspect and check Electrical switch. Customer said it would not run but it does run with no problems. I'll change filters when reassembling. Please help if you have BTDT. Thanks, Sherman.

The front facia comes off first. Two torx 20 screws are removed under the dust cup. On the back of the machine it clips over the handle, on each side of the switch pedal towards the top of it insert a thin blade screwdriver and gently twist to unclip. this must be done on both sides. Once that is removed, there are two black U shape clips that must be removed from the two upright round tubes of the backbone ass'y. With a thin screwdriver, stick blade between yellow backbone and the black U clip and pry backwards. Once one end is loose, you can pull on the U shape clip or pry on the other side to remove. When both U clips are removed, the handle will lift off of the motor pod.

With that much dust on the outside of the vacuum I bet the filters are causing the motor to overheat and the customer is not allowing enough time to let the motor to cool off, I've seen the as1000 get hot enough where the motor twist and pull the wires out of the terminals or melt the switch. Here in El Paso the dust is finer than flour and people have to change their filter every 2weeks to a month, I am a service center for eureka and I see that on a daily basis.
