I'm looking to purchase a decent wet/dry shop vac that is quiet.

Does anyone own a quiet shop vac?

Any recommendations?

I'm looking for a medium size .
Between $100- $150

There are some high end vacs that are quiet. Don't know much about them. I have to say though, I am rather impressed with the newer low-end Shop Vac brand ones. We had to buy a new one at work and it is really fairly quiet. Not nearly silent by any means, but it is quieter than the old Shop Vac we had and it was supposed to be a "Quiet Super Power" model, yet the new regular one is quieter. Granted the old one was at least ten years old though.

My Oreck commercial vac is quiet..

I too got very tired of ear-splitting, short lived shop-type vacuum cleaners.
The Oreck Commercial is quality in every way, but it did set me back about $600.00.
However, I did have a muffler put on a previous (non-Oreck but popular brand) vacuum. I joked to the vacuum dealer about the noise. I said he should put a muffler on it. And he did! He had a vacuum-cleaner muffler in stock. It took the shrill off of the noise which did help somewhat. Added about $20 to the bill. That vacuum cleaner only lasted a few years whereupon it too took a dump.

The quietest?

Probably a Fein Turbo Extractor. it's a commercial grade shop vac with an electronic speed control and it runs at 57 decibels on average. idk where to get one.... Beerad, you're in Canada, right?

You'd have to find a dealer

If you were after a Fein, you'd have to find out who sells them. If you want to get one, I could do some research for ya.

The best Shop vac is the unbeatable henry, It has excellent suction, it quiet, has bags which last over 4 months in th average UK household, and also its eco friendly because it saves energy. You can have a conversation over using the Henry

Ooooooooo...,,,yes

Come to think of it , I can see how Henry could be used as a great dry shop vac ,and yes very quiet and powerful .

I think I will get a Henry .

And keep the above shop vac for wet or water pik ups,

Thanks for the idea about Henry:))

You'll love the Henry if you decide to get one. The suction is great, it's quiet and bags last ages like Tayyab (Parwaz786) pointed out.
