first off this will be 155 photos, so please wait until theyre all uploaded to comment. 2nd i covered the VCCC 2013 milwaukee convention with Sean Curry who i went along with, before we even got there. had a ball! our first day we overnighted in cuba, missouri at the route 66 stop the wagon wheel motel. before we had a wonderful dinner in joplin and got a surreal check of what an f5 tornados scar really looks like. now off to the pics and accompanies story!
Get your kicks on route 66! wagon wheel motel shortly after sean's and my arrival around 10pm that nite.
the next morning before we left, this amazing 1960's chevy impala was a few cabins down. it wasnt a prop like we first thought, soda cup and junk food on the dash clearly showed its owner was on a route 66 road trip
sean's wagon by the rocker. after here we went to a few vac shops in st. louis. our gold mine was at tony's vac shop in fergeson, MO where we spent and hour and a half in his basement. he was very nice. i came home with a rare heritage II sani emtor for my kirby heritage II, a few NOS kirby parts and electrolux wands. sean got some rare hoover and ge vac bags and a hoover 1020 convertible box, a machine has happens to have in his collection!
after our adventure in Tony's vacuum shop we drove US 67 into illinois. the clark bridge was something i saw on a pbs nova documentary many years ago. i havent crossed this bridge in 13 years... — in Alton, IL.
after a long drive thru illinois, we arrived in milwaukee around midnite. sean and i got there day early to visit some family i hadn't seen in town in many years. My Auntie Linda, Uncle Rick, and myself at thier apt. in hales corners
after my visit to auntie linda, we drove to muskego and visited my auntie susie and her boyfriend randy. they were a hoot and spoiled us with steaks and fixins.
