In my link you can read all about Numatic. It says the Chard factory was acquired in 1990. It does not say when production at Beaminster ended. I imagine that it was a gradual process as the two sites are not that far from each other.
I think the green Henry in this discussion must be one of the first to have the square opening for the mains lead to leave the cleaner. Prior to this, the hole was rectangular, running top-to-bottom down the hood of the motor. The moulded 13amp plug on this cleaner was also a very new style for 1993.
