So, a freebie here, always good in my books!

This was my Grandmas Lux, which has been her daily driver for the past 27 years and is still going strong. While Grandma did keep this lux in good, clean condition, this ol' gal was in need of a service (more cleaning wise and bearings greased etc, nothing nasty like iv'e come across before!) and obviously bore some battle scars. (Adds to character IMHO)

My grandma also had the complete tool kit in hardly used, like mint condition, along with its immaculate box, paperwork - manual, guarantee card etc, and some spare bags.

If I remember correctly (Please, do feel free to correct me) this model was a Co-Op exclusive back in the day, and was the BOL with an on/off switch being the only thing on it (essentially.) Whereas its counter part was the Z1070, which featured a height adjuster.

Anyway, enough babbling, the color scheme is "Mid White" according to Lux, and, with it being stored in a dark closet for almost 30 year (Surprising how time flies!) it still bears its un-yellowed white plastic!

Before Pics as usal then afters. Enjoy! :)

Now that she's at her new home, let the resto commence!

To my very surprise, there's a damn air freshener left in! At least it doesn't smell horrid like a Turbopower 2 'air freshener' I found once!

And still its genuine filters and original bag clip.

Something different, this ones bellows are connected with a cable tie, whereas the Z1070 had 'removable' bellows which were held onto the sole plate by a sliding clip, thus giving the user more access/ easier access to clear blockages.

Also, very worn brush strips vs new ones.

I always wondered what "Twin Turbo" meant. Now I know. It has two (twin) fans. I bet it had great airflow.

We had the same vacuum in the states for a short while, called the Viking. Electrolux USA was furious because vacuum shops were calling it an Electrolux, which was a completely different machine (and company) from the door to door selling Electrolux. I remember selling a good number of the Vikings to people, and then all of a sudden we couldn't get bags any longer. We had to throw away perfectly good machines, and trade them in on another brand. Our bags were not reusable.

pic #1 - Something you don't see very often, brown wheels.

pic #2 - Why Electrolux, why did you think this was a brilliant idea?

pic #3 - Rating sticker 036 = decade - 90's, so 0 = 1990 and 36 = week, So 36th week of 1990 :)

Wishy~Washy! Still ;)

While the parts were enjoying their 'Fairy Apple Orchard' bath, I decided to get to work on the motor.

pic #1 - Brushes are a little low, but still have plenty of life in the still.

pic 2# - Unfortunately this is as far as you can strip a lux motor as they crimped the fans on thus not being able to remove them.

pic #3 - Commy in very lovely condition, only ever so light bar burning on a few teeth and that's it. Also, bearing all caked in dust, after cleaning the bearing was only dry.

The next day ~

After removing as many marks as I could with rubbing alcohol, I decided to go the extra mile and add a new coat of clear coat to the hood, handle and body.

The Finale ~

Posing with her younger sister, the 1993 Lux Turbo 2 Z1070l.

I will also try and get an after video eventually.
