Here's three of the five (?) pages (1, 2 and 4) from the 1983 updated service bulletin Kirby gave to its dealers regarding the Tradition and the conversion of the top-mounted speed switch (as used on the earliest machines) to the bottom-mount one.
This 1983 update differs from the 1980 edition in that the plastic speed switch cover (138780) and its associated parts (screw washer 138880, and safety switch mounting screw 138980) are no longer listed among the parts to be used, due to the plastic cover's interference with the speed switch selector arm.
If anyone might happen to have the missing pages 3 and 5 of this, please reply.
