Interesting. I've never seen the 100 with the automatic rug nozzle. I thought it didnt appear till the 310.

Tommy,But when you do,it's something good!Seeing the Italian and other designs is great.Do you have these same or similar models?Would that have been considered full size upright at the time or did you also have Hoover Convertible/Senior?--Jimmy

my aunt had both those machines the z100[a green one] is still in use not sure what happend to the upright but i do remember doing minor repairs to it in the early 70s i remember having trouble getting the hood back on after the repair theres a lot crammed in under that hood

ahahah! I must confess that I haven't seen an electrolux upright like it but once in my life, I'm sure they were not as popular as the Hoover senior/junior in that period. It's interesting to know that these brochures were left by an electrolux dtd salesman in the house of a friend of mine, but her parents later decided to purchase a Vorwerk kobold instead!

My mother always wanted the 152 Electrolux after using one in someone's house. The 152 soon became the 160 and the 160 quickly became the 170. The 170 then stayed on sale for about 10 years. It was very popular here in the UK and I am sure it must have taken a good deal of sales away from the Hoover Junior. I know that my mother had nothing against the Hoover Juniors, but was really taken by the plastic box on the Electrolux and the way it was so very easy to empty the bag.

well, I like them from the historical point of view and they were surely made very well but so far in terms of performance from a hoover upright cleaner of the same period. And their design was quite ugly if compared to that of hoover cleaners. Moreover I think they were just made to give customers just an alternative, but the price was high, for what they were...

I am not sure how the price compared to the Junior here in the UK, but I do know they offered something which a good deal of people seemed to be wanting. I too think the design is not all that eloquent. But it was a very practical cleaner.

AHAHHAHA Thank you very much Jimmy, that place used to be a part of my grandparents factory built close to their house in the Sixties.Now the whole property belongs to us and my mother lives there. After the facility was moved to a larger location away from the center of the town it remained in use as a garage and it will remain so until we complete the refurbish of the mansion when it will give place to a covered swimming pool (but upstairs it will hopefully remain a large and comfortable display for my babies! It's a little bit in confusion right now because I have very little time to take care of it and I don't live there, but it's very nice to see when I visit my family.
