1958 Eureka Model 860 Canister (step down from the Golden Crown) What bags will work?

Hi.
I have a circa 1958 Eureka Model 860 Canister Vacuum Cleaner.
Will the Tri-Star/ Compact C bags work in this machine?

Funny story about this vacuum.
I am its second owner. It was bought new in about 1958 by my neighbor Mr O. He was a WW2 vet who kept his house and cars immaculate. He would use this vacuum to clean out his Buick. I would see it in his driveway every Saturday when he would vacuum out his car. Sadly, he died this summer.
This August, his kids were cleaning out his house, they were going back and fourth to the dumpster (I live in a condo complex) I did not give it much thought. Anyhow, I had some trash I needed to throw out and waited for the garbage men to empty out the dumpster so that I would not get greeted by an obnoxious stench from a packed full trash dumpster.
After I heard the garbage truck lower the bin and leave I decided to go and throw out my trash.
As I was walking up to the dumpster, I noticed my Mr O's daughter walking from the bin to their dad's condo.
I raised the lid to the dumpster and was surprised by the Roto-Matic. It was carelessly tossed into the now empty dumpster.
I honestly felt sorry for it.
It was laying on its side on the floor of the dumpster- I couldn't believe it.
I remember I muttered aloud " Oh hell no!" and reached into the bin and rescued it from its fate.
I couldn't stand to see the Roto-Matic end its 56 year career in a landfill.
I carried it to my house ( getting some strange looks from my neighbors on the way ) and turned it on in the garage. It had some bearing squeal and needed a new toggle switch.
I took it apart, cleaned it out, replaced the toggle switch and was pleasantly surprised: its vintage Lamb motor came with an oddity rarely seen today- Serviceable Bearings!!!
After a cleaning and repacking the bearings with new bearing grease, this thing runs perfect. It has the suction of a Shop Vac without the excessive noise or whine.

I thought I would share the story of how I acquired it.
This thing takes the now obsoleted Eureka Type J Canister bags.
My Question is will the Compact/Tri-Star C bags work with it?
They seem to have similar dimensions.
I'm debating replacing the cloth liner with a Modified Compact Cloth bag as well - In addition to using the Type C bags if they fit.
Anyhow, If the C-Bags will work with this machine let me know.

I have the same machine, in both the red as well as the green versions. The Compact bags don't fit or work well. Instead, I kept the original cloth bag (cleaned out of course) and make a HEPA cloth disposable bag out of a Simplicity type F bag. I cut the disposable HEPA cloth bag off at the collar (straight across) and inserted it into the Eureka cloth bag, tucking the edges under the rubber ring of the old cloth bag. It works great, keeps the cloth bag clean, and you have HEPA filtration.

I did just that. I cleaned out the cloth bag and instead of a Simplicity F bag, I cut a Genuine Eureka F&G bag in half (I had a couple laying around) That works pretty good. This is my go-to vacuum when I don't feel like setting up the Rainbow.
These Eurekas were really well built back in the day.
