Do central vacuums actually deep-clean carpets as good as a portable?

I forgot to add that if you use a unit that is under powered or just has performance due to how it was engineered, then just like a portable vacuum, the system will not clean well. It's not just the size of the power unit that matters but it does play a large role, as well as how the system was...

Do central vacuums actually deep-clean carpets as good as a portable?

I installed a VacuFlo 566Q in my parents house back in 2006 when I still lived at home and I can say that they most certainly do clean carpets exceptionally well! We've had several different power nozzles over the years, as well as the TurboCat Zoom air driven nozzle for quick pick ups, and all...

WOW....polishing a Kirby is a pain this arse.

What is the best way to protect the finish once it has been polished? I just had my Diamond Edition rebuilt by the factory and I'd like to preserve the mirror like shine as long as possible. I've owned it since new and periodically polished it with Flitz so it never looked bad, but it wasn't...

This is the damage of the wand connection

    Cen-Tec CPB-100 power nozzle problem

Hi Everyone, My parent's have a Cen-Tec CPB-100 power nozzle and matching hose model# xz221(?) for their VacuFlo system but there is an issue with the wand and hose handle connections. I'm not sure if there was a short in the connection between the two, possibly they disconnected the handle...

    Kirby Carpet Fluffer

Thanks Bill, you always have the answers to all Kirby questions. Everything is great here, hope all is well with you too! Is there a different belt that needs to be used? I saw something about a flat belt is used with the buffer brush roll.

    Kirby Carpet Fluffer

Hi Everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows if the brush roll that was used in the Kirby Floor Care Kit buffer nozzle can be used in the shampoo nozzle too? I have a Diamond Edition and I would like to get the buffer brush roll to help restore the nap of my carpet. I had a G4 many years ago...

Miele or Riccar or something else

I bought a new Miele C3 Marin in April and I LOVE it! In my opinion its worth every penny, its fairly quiet, it filters amazingly well, and it has lots of power. I love the parquet twister floor brush and I think the 236 power nozzle is one of the best cleaning nozzles out there. It grooms...

Any Updates to Aerus Lux Guardian Platinum?

There are no circuit boards in the Legacy. It’s still nearly the same machine as the Epic 6000 from 1993 but it has the plastic wands and stearable power nozzle. It also now has a cheap single stage motor that’s a real screamer and doesn’t last. The motor in my Lux Classic lasted less than 9...

Any Updates to Aerus Lux Guardian Platinum?

I can't understand why Aerus would offer a TOL premium machine that doesn't have the controls integrated into the hose handle. My Renaissance is almost 25 years old and it has the controls in the handle and it's great. I can't imagine having to reach for the canister with my foot or bend to...

    Electrolux power nozzle bearing noise

Rob, you were right, I had to replace the motor. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions! I lubricated the bearings with tri flow as recommended but it only helped for a few days before the noise started to come back. I ended up using the motor from the Classic pn and installing it was...

    Electrolux power nozzle bearing noise

Thanks for the video link. How do I lubricate the motor bearing and what type of lubricant do I need to use?

    Electrolux power nozzle bearing noise

Thanks Rob! I replaced the brush roll in the machine when I bought it with the new style with the extra turn of bristles. I opened the nozzle up tonight before I posted and it's definitely the motor. I'll have to look into swapping out the motors. Is their a way to just lubricate the bearing of...

    Electrolux power nozzle bearing noise

It's been a vey long time since I've posted here but I need some help. I recently started using my Electrolux Renaissance as my daily driver and the bearing in the power nozzle that's closest to the belt is squeaking. I've had this machine for about 10 years and I bought it in nearly new...

    Stealth Power Head

I had the 14 inch nozzle for several years and got rid of it. It's well made but it does not clean very well, especially for the price. I think an Electrolux power nozzle cleans better than the Lindhaus, as the Lindhaus/Stealth nozzle has only one row of bristles. I replaced mine with a Centec...

    Electrolux model 1453

Have you checked the connection where the handle and the wand meet? Also maybe try replacing the cord that is within the wand sheath. If you the hose handle was removed from the wand without shutting of the power nozzle it can cause damage to the electrical connections.

Kirby - Researching to buy my first Kirby

My vote is for the Diamond Edition. I bought mine new about 12 years ago and I love it! I don't use the low speed setting often but I do like having the ability to decrease the power. I haven't used a Sentria or Avalir but I've used and owned other G series machines and I like the Diamond...

    eureka power nozzle

The Express nozzle is a great power nozzle that cleans very well! My mom bought a new Eureka Express in 1986 and that machine got a lot of use. I was a toddler and my sister was born later that year, so you can imagine the mess it cleaned up during it service, and kept our floors and carpets...

What's the best way to clean new laminate flooring?

Nick, Buy yourself a nice canister vacuum that you can use with a well made soft natural bristle floor brush. And to mop your floors use the Bona system with the washable microfiber clothes. I have engineered hard wood flooring in my condo, it can be refinished up to 3 times, but I'm hoping I...

    Electrolux Central Vac.

I've had a VacuFlo 566Q that I installed myself for over 10 years which has direct connect inlets and I couldn't be happier with it! The best money I've ever spent! It's easy to maintain, has amazing power, it's quiet, and the attachment possibilities are nearly endless. I had a Lindhaus...
